Canada/Japan entering free trade talks...

If a deal went through, anybody know if this could impact Canadian car prices from Toyota/Subaru?

I unfortunately don't know anything about what free trade means for vehicle imports.

In the ideal world, this would mean all of our electronics and Japanese cars would go down in price by 6% (the import tariff for Japan). But of course, the manufacturers will pocket the 6% and make up convoluted excuses about how it's "just not that simple", like when our dollar became par and the US car price difference stayed the same.

I am somewhat out of touch with the day to day Canadian news, I'll have to have a read, but my first impressions would be...
We already get anything and everything we want from Japan... surely this is just Harper wanting to increase exports of Canadian natural resources?

Exactly... But it would still remove the 6% import tax... which you will NOT pocket because "add any non sense reason here".

Many will likely say the FR-S/BRZ needs more power and while more wouldn’t hurt, those folks (the same ones who have probably never driven on a track) are missing the point.
