WTF are you trying to prove here, (besides the fact that you are having a midlife crisis) a viable idea and a functioning system are not the same thing. Example put a gt15 sized turbo on the car, it will make less HP due to the restriction, but that doesn't mean turbos can't make HP.

If you were closer to us, we'd certainly be open-minded enough to tune your set-up using EcuTek.

Something to keep in mind with your current SC layout though.....you may want to consider repositioning the MAF sensor, should the MAF readings be inconsistent when the SC is on. Having the MAF too close to the inlet of a compressor wheel will often make the MAF go crazy since there will be turbulence caused by the compressor wheel chopping at the air as it enters the compressor inlet.

Of course, the other option would be to do a MAF/SD blend that switches on when the factory MAP detects boost. However, this would involve a lot more tuning time.

Also, you may want to position the SC where it would give you room to possibly incorporate a filtered air inlet bypass valve of some sort. This can help to alleviate any intake restrictions that may occur when the SC is off.

I don't have BRZedit like you do so I don't know precisely what the stock load limits are. I do know what happens when table values are exceeded. Timing is retarded and extra fuel is dumped to prevent possible engine damage. It's actually hard to blow up a modern engine but loosening the knock sensor should do it.

I do know that an older, less advanced Denso ECU in my 08 XB had no trouble handling a 60% increase in airflow, whp and wtq without even throwing a CEL. That was my DD for 5 years and 50k trouble-free miles with a turbo kit designed, installed and tuned by yours truly. Tuning consisted of 440cc inj's and a Split Second Enricher.

How on earth is is possible to get "worthwhile" power gains for something that runs on 12v DC, and doesn't have an electric motor the size of Cleveland? I need to look a little closer at this......oh and how long can this thing stay on until the battery dies?

Now, does this particular kit actually make power? That remains to be seen. But It's obvious that this is a just a bit different from what we saw in that video.

This set up will work... for close to half a second, maybe less. Then the batteries are run down and the alternator is full fielded (become super heavy to turn). It is pay back time for the engine to give back all the power made half a second earlier. You can keep the throttle buried to avoid using engine power to charge the batteries, but 1 PSI will not do much and even that will soon drains the batteries. And please give me a break for saying this is equivalent to a NOS shot. It is no where near a 50 hp shot.
For the cost of this set up, you sure won't get much hp for any period of time.
