Crazy Quote

Guys,

Straight up, I'm new to BRZ but not new to this game. Had some pretty sweet rides in my time. With that said, so far I've added the quicksilver sport 3 inch exhaust. My 2013 brz is my daily driver, but it's a really needing some HP power but Im not looking to turn it into a drag race car.

I keep reading the articles on the pre made turbo kit with the ecu programmed so I took a some advise from a user on there and called a local shop to check on some prices.

12k I was quoted for a custom- tuned turbo kit. That's crazy! I just want a kit that will fit my current setup and if I blow a clutch later down the road , I'll slap in a nice one.

I know not everyone on here, is dropping 12k.

You'll probably find better advice from the forced induction section but $12,000 for a bolt on turbo and tune sounds fairly high.

A custom kit requires a custom price. There's craftsmanship and quality in good work and a proper setup. Speed isn't cheap.

You can do it cheaper for sure. Buy nice or buy twice.

If only you knew how much my other car costed me to go down the road of getting more boost.

Most kits don't include all of those options. They offered you a turn key package.

Just what in the hell am I looking at?

Are those welded sections to make that bend? Those must have been welded by the most patient man in the entire universe. Holy shit. There's no way a mandrel bend could have been worked in there?

I was quoted about 10k for a greddy turbo install. The kit is $5200 base, and the install and custom tune with dyno was about $4500

You need to sit down and find out what your goals are. Where do you want to use this car, and how much do you want to spend.
