I think you're misinterpreting my post, that is stated in terms of price, not quality, as in, you're getting the best struts and springs for the same price as the worst coilovers.

PS- No need to make insults, you don't know what you're talking about if you think I'm not familiar with these cars.

Probably should have clarified as many people actually think price = performance or at least shop to a budget, not quality and don't know the difference.

I had to do a double take at your first post. Then the second clarified it. I agree. Springs/shocks is a drastically better option than coilovers at the same price. I can't even fathom how terrible $500 Raceland coilovers can be.

Thanks for the insight. I recalled that there was someone around here that had konis and springs and really liked it. So I am guessing the concrete and expansion joints of i97 are just fine with the konis and rce's?
I'm on I97 quite a bit, and I have no issues with it. Like I said before, big cracks/joints can be firm for the car, but it's not harsh by any means. So it feels about the same as stock. The car does handle flatter, and with the Konis I can dial in oversteer or neutrality. I assume I can get understeer, but why the heck would I want to do that?

One thing to also consider is your alignment. I had a decent performance/ street alignment done at AIG (I can get the specs when I get home if you want). But the big thing is that this car has zero camber correction from the factory. That means getting bolts/mounts for the front and bushings or control arms for the rear. I went with the OEM crash bolts for the front and I got the upper control arm bushings for the rear. The front bolts don't allow a *ton* of correction, but it's better than nothing, and they're stupid cheap.

Did you get camber bolts and/or LCAs? Curious if camber can be dialed back in with factory components and a mild drop.

I had camber bolts put in, but no alignment yet. I don't believe things are off too much, but it's nice to be sure. I'll have an alignment done relatively soon. A little camber feels pretty good.

Good pick up! Also, you won't be able to change the camber in the rear without upper control arm bushings or adjustable lower control arms. The crash bolts are the easy solution to get some correction in the front.

Thanks! Your review/recommendation was key in my decision. I don't think I am going to go too far off of stock settings. I will post an alignment sheet when I get one done. Any recommendations for settings for something that will be 99% street use?

But not great coilovers.

I agree. I was simply comparing current costs without future rebuilds.

I'll probably be one of those future rebuild-ers one day

I can take a look at my sheet when I get home, but this is from memory. Front: -1.5º camber, 0 toe. Caster is fixed. Rear -1.8º camber, 1/16th toe in on either side. For a street use, you probably won't need that much camber up front. You may only want -1.5º or so in the rear (if you get camber adjustment in the rear).

I put a bit of toe-in on my rear to help with stability. You may want zero toe.
