Dent :( Will paintless dent removal be able to get this out?

Unfortunately I caught a curb at work. Front made it out fine, but the back caught the curb.

Was only going about 10-15 km/hr as I was pulling out from work, they just put in new larger sized curbs :-/

This is on the rocker panel / side skirt just by the passenger side door

I was wondering if a paintless dent removal shop could get this out or would I have to go to a body shop?

To late to call around now (will call around tomorrow) but I wanted to know what my options were if anybody knows

Body Shop from the looks of it.

You will probably have to replace that whole piece, and by the whole piece that's a big piece.

One of our ESC members actually had his damaged from a snow bank. He replaced it, but it cost quite a bit.

If I recall correctly that piece goes all the way back to your rear quarter panel. (one piece)

I attached a highlight piece of what I mean by "1 piece"

However this is all an assumption based on previous story of our ESC member, and your 2 photos. I would get it checked out.

That panel can not be replaced, it is actually part of the vehicles frame/chassis.

Best picture I could find but you get the idea.

Talk to the body shop and ask if they can use a Steck (?) Pull. They drill a few small holes, insert a curved rod to get behind the dent; sort of a reverse pounding and then lead the holes in and paint. That would be a lot cheaper than replacing the panel.

I bet PDA could fix that, as long as they can getva repair rod in there, they should be able ti push it out. There are rocker panel holes for the door sill plates and I also see possible access holes on the inside of this area near the back kf the door opening. So you might be in luck. Those guys are magic!

I hhavee a similar, but smaller dent near the same spot. I don't recall hitting anything and I assume someone hit my car with some sort of cart or something.

Since my was smaller I was just thinking of sanding and painting it.

PDR will absolutely be able to get it out. Just because the dent is on a unibody portion of the car means nothing. They will just suck it out, and tap it back down.

I had to get a similar repair done right above my b pillar, and the guy didn't have to go inside the panel at all. Looks perfect now.

Basically anything that doesn't have a sharp crease to it, shouldn't be a problem.

I scraped the bottom of front lip a few times too workplace's parking lot to the road is like a dip/ramp, If I exit the lot too fast (8km/h+) I'll scratch the bottom of the lip, at least I can't see it but when I feel down there FWP with low cars.

Gotta take them at an ugly/embarrassing angle. Also, even though it's counter-intuitive, a tap of gas just before you hit the incline will make things smoother, as it will take weight off the front suspension (raise up the front end slightly) whereas braking will do the opposite.

In nearly 6 months, I haven't ground the bottom of the FR-S once yet. The C6 I had before the FR-S (on the same DD routine) was both lower and longer in the nose, and that thing scraped so many times that a chunk of plastic underneath had to be replaced once, and the replacement was dangling again by the time I traded the car in.

Well phoned a couple places and emailed a few. Some PDR places said they could not do it and a few others said they could.

Chipmaster in Markham quotes me the following

" 1) Repair dents / scratches on right lower rocker panel
2) Prep rocker for refinish
3) Re apply stone guard
4) Blend base coat for perfect colour match
5) Refinish repairs"

They have pretty good reviews so I think I will take it there. Price will be approx 350-400
