What to do...
Hello all,
So I picked up my FR-S about a month ago and love it...except for a few things. My big concerns: -Its a bit slow -The ultramarine is a bit purpley and now I am wishing I had bought the Subaru blue I want to customize it a bit, nothing to extravagant, and I want to love the blue again and stop thinking its purple My thoughts so far are: -Toyota badges -Gloss back roof -Shark fin What are other people's thoughts? Thanks! Nate |

I think the ultramarine is awesome and yeah the car is slow you should of known that before you bough it. Why not work on performance than and make it a little faster? I usually do Wheels, Suspension, Exhaust first. The ultramarine in my opinion is cool because during the day it looks blue but at night it looks more of a purple.

Did you test drive the car? Did you research the different colors?
Mods are personal taste/preference. Ultramarine will look good with black/charcoal wheels. That will compliment the color. I did Toyota badges and 20% tint so far. I am paying off student loans and making payments on my car. Student loans are done soon. My first mod will be wheels, tires, and suspension. To each his own. Good luck! |

So the negative...
Thank you. I know I can, just wanted some input from people who have done mods and see what they liked. Quote:

I have ultramarine too, and it all depends on the lighting. The dimmer the lighting, the closer to black it'll look. So if you have dim-ish lights, it looks purple (which it kinda does in my garage). But, it looks amazing on a bright sunny day, it looks amazing on a gray overcast day, and it looks great at night too. It's just that weird inbetween, almost no light but still a bit of light where it looks purple-ish. Even then, it's only certain angles. I say give the car a good wash and wax, and take it out of the garage to admire it. The paint color looks the worst in my garage lighting by far.
My personal favorite simple cosmetic mods was my Toyota badges, FR-S de-badge, and red out tails. I have red Tom's now, but even vinyl or painted OEM tail lights looks great. I feel like the gloss black roof complements light or bright colors more, like white or red cars. I have don't plan on getting the shark fin - I can see that it's a bit sleeker and less tacky looking than the antennae but I've found that the antennae blends into the background a lot more easily. It generally calls less attention to top of the car, whereas a shark fin is more obvious and could give the illusion of a slightly taller car. |

As for the bit slow part I recommend full exhaust, intake and a tune will make it sound luscious and make it poke a bit better.
