I just locally bought a Top Fuel can for cheap. The only issue I have is the catch can cannot be laid sideways, or else the volume gauge becomes useless. I had a perfect place to install it too. Shucks.

I wanted to install it on the top near the Toyota D4S logo, but then realized that plastic cover is not bolted down, just clipped in. I'm thinking I need to make a bracket since my second hand kit didn't come with a bracket.

Sorry that wasn't much help. I really haven't had time to investigate more. Gotto love grad school.

Why do you need a baffled catch? Im still waiting for results to show that catch cans are even useful on this setup.

Because the oil vapor needs something to condense on, otherwise it stays in suspension and the majority will pass right though. In modern engines, especially performance applications, catch cans are always beneficial.

They are built to handle that blow by sludge, it's minimal to non existent on modern NA engines anyway. There's nothing wrong with installing one on the stock engine but there is no need to.

^Is there any proof that the catch can provides very little benefits on NA car?

You are sorely mistaken. When I get back to the office I have some photos of the inside of some modern NA engines for you. After about 50k miles it gets pretty nasty in there if you do not take steps to keep it clean.

You definatly want a can even NA. My 2zz develops puddles of oil in the manifold from blow by. The cylinder walls are MMC so they are not worn or out-of-round. There will always be blow-by.
