Not much going on with the build. I'm still waiting on my rack and pinion so I can complete the front crossmember. I started setting up my driveline angle the trans mount is probably in its final location. I need to get my vorshlag driveshaft shortened or buy a new shorter shaft, and sell the one I have. Anyone know of a driveline shop that is willing to shorted an aluminum driveshaft in northern California.?

I found a shop in San Jose (South Bay Driveline) to take my driveshaft to. A few friends at work had work done, and gave good reviews for the work performed by that particular shop. They can shorter driveshafts, build new driveshafts, balance them, and more I'm sure. Hopefully I get it back next Tuesday/ Wednesday.

I picked up the driveshaft today. Test fit it. The length is perfect. I raised my differential 3/4" with P.B.M solid subframe, and differential riser bushings. Raising the differential has caused interference between the driveshaft, and heat shield under the gas tank. Hopefully this weekend I get this figured out. The custom rack and pinion should arrive thursday.

I dropped the shield under the gas tank, and the driveshaft fits now. I'm going to reshape the bottom of the gas tank to clear the exhaust, and the driveshaft with a heat shield in place. I'm also going to get the OEM evap, and fuel system from a Z06 mounted up. Hopefully get this all done in one shot.

I wouldn't cut my input shaft. I would find a different solution. I will double check my clearances. I did order a quicktime steel bellhousing for a LT4 with a T56 Magnum transmission. It is all assembled nothing has broke yet. I think the easiest way to check this at this point will be to have the transmission in gear push in the clutch spin the driveshaft and make sure it spins the transmission without binding on the back of the crank. It looked like the 5.3 had the issues, but it's good info. I will proceed with caution. Thanks. After mock up is complete I will separate the motor, and trans to verify my measurements were correct and all is well.

Found some info to clarify how to determine which pilot bearing is correct for your particular LS swap.

Found the correct info. Looks like ls and the Gen V LT engines use the same pilot bearing with the t56 magnum xl, and bell housing kit I have. I thought i was good but double checked to confirm.

I got my steering rack a while back. I ordered a couple of 1.75" shaft collars to use to make the mounting brackets. I'm in the process of building the final version of my front crossmember. I would have had to modify the last one I made to fit the steering rack where I want it, and I didn't like how it looked. So instead of modifying something I wasn't completely happy with I decided to build something new I would like. I will post up some pictures later.
