The new 86 has an optional spoiler, but it is the old Scion version. I don't think you can even get the "BRZ" spoiler on the new 86 in North America.

Thanks. Ya it is possible that all the pics are someplace else. I just had not seen one single pic of the old style on a 17 until here. The dealer site uses that same pic.

Sounds that they changed the suspension setup more for the likes of the US market. Does anyone know the new spring rates?

Old info.

"reduce the rear spring rate by 15 per cent and make the anti-roll bar 1mm thinner, while softening the dampers all-round compared with the original 2012 model. That's right, the 86 is now softer than before. Only the front springs increase in stiffness by 10 per cent."

It's a $400. accessory on the Toyota 86. Just can't fathom why Toyota is charging more for the 86 than a BRZ, with seemingly fewer basic items on their car.
The Base BRZ also comes with the underbody panels whereas the 86 does not. There is literally no reason to buy the 86 over the BRZ unless you strongly prefer the front bumper on the 86.

Subaru uses Chase financing. Chase sucks ass and is non negotiable as well as sucking ass. Toyota uses their own financing because it is a much larger company. It is easier to get approved by Toyota as well as negotiate down the price of the car if you accept their financing. Rates are an unending conversation and often involve lies hidden forever from the paperwork.

I would have rather bought it from Toyota than Subaru. Also, Toyota has the most amazing color, Hot Lava. I would have bought the BRZ in October and not deliberated for three months if the BRZ had Hot Lava color. (or whatever the new version of hot lava is if the palette changed). Hot Lava with the BRZ new spoiler would look awesome.

That's why you finance through Costco or a credit union right?

But I agree, Hot Lava is nice. Sometimes I regret not getting it myself.

I guess by that you mean the newer generation of Porsche.

They wanted to achieve a more "upscale ride" back with the revised 2015 BRZ tS in Japan, and applied the same philosophy to the standard 2017 facelift car.

The 2017 BRZ suspension has less feedback/vibration stimuli than the previous BRZ generation. The 2017 BRZ soaks up more vibrations and the ride quality is closest to a GT4.

Very interesting and this is achieved without the performance package.

What about the differences in terms of engine power, the final drive ratio, and the TCS/VSC/Track Mode set ups?

Interesting that you think the 2017 is so much softer feeling. I disagree that it has less feedback and vibration.

To me, the chassis/ride felt exactly like my 2013 FRS, stock for stock.

What I noticed was the drivetrain was smoother, shifting, pedals, gear throws, etc...Guess everyone's butt dyno is different.

Is yours a US version or other?

So it looks that the stock suspension cannot support anymore very sticky tires (more body roll). The original idea was to have a suspension that is more oriented for the track. You were changing just the tires and the brake pads and you were good to go. Now it looks that it is one-way to install coilovers or to wait for the performance package (Sachs suspension).

Anyways, I was many months off so maybe similar discussions have been made already.
