Yeah he is good people, and a good group. Absolutely! I run with SCDA, SCCA, SCCA TNiA, COMSCC, King, and Palmer, I did 20 events last year?

My first time out with the 86, maybe my 10th time at Palmer?

Palmer is easily one of the best tracks around, I personally will not even run NHMS.

Palmer is a very intimidating track as its all walls, double apexes, blind apexes, and hills...BUT it is the most rewarding track I have been to when driven correctly. The track just flows from turn to turn and really throws a little of everything at you.

First track day at Palmer with SCDA, was cool and damp in the morning, but ended up drying out with descent traction everywhere.
Also had my first track day (for the year) at Palmer recently and parked at that same spot. Grats on the new track toy.

It's the only track I've been on so take my opinion with a grain of salt - but I love it.

As Tuna mentioned it is exceptionally rewarding to drive it well. Never really gets old, and when it seems to ... just sign up for a day they drive it in reverse and it's a whole other ball game.

I will say that it plays exceptionally well to the 86 as it's essentially all turns. Even the one straight is a friggin turn.

So that means we get to stomp on high HP cars and make them drive their mirrors all day

Oh and it eats tires. Wore out a set of RE71r's from new to fucked in a 2 day even with Chin. Needless to say it was an awesome 2 days

I'm jealous.

Kid #1 arrived in February so track time is now kid time, track money kid money, you get the idea.

Will try to get out there for a couple of days to make sure I don't forget how to drive...

Oh yeah CW is entirely another track, it was originally designed to run in that direction, but Turn 4 & 5 are less fun CW. Maybe because it always seems to pour when I run that direction

It is a bit brutal on tires, but with the 86s lightweight and "powerlessness" I am hoping they last longer than my previous car running A7s lol. Plus, tires are oddly half the price, which was pretty awesome. Then maybe a spare bed room won't look like this...

What's wrong with your tire room? Looks fine to me

Smile Hello New England!

Hey everyone! This sticky hasn't been dusted off in a while, but I deleted all my social media a while back. Was hoping this could maybe be a good way to introduce to some people in the area

I'm an old fart with years of racing experience. Raced in SCCA as a youngster. Have been doing track days for 11 years. Best known for my 2008 silver STI hatch, track car. Mostly I run with SCDA or BMW club. I'm typically #85.

Did Palmer 5-20-2022 in my new BRZ. My first dry outing. I was at LRP on 5-6. At Palmer we ran counterclockwise. I did a best of 1:56.
(See Journal) Engine and drivetrain are stock. I've done aero, BBK and suspension work and like the Cygnus X-1 Motorsports coilovers. I run 245 888R's. The car is amazingly neutral.
I love the track! I like it because it seems better suited to momentum cars that handle well. Prior to the BRZ I liked Club Motorsports in NH best. That was really suited to my 470 HP STI.

As to tire wear, it's easy to overdrive the tires and chew them up in the banking. The predominant lefthanders don't help the RF tire. The course was designed to be a counterclockwise track.
