Paid.... It's about time

Looking forward to the "final tune" and "final tone" with my existing Innovate SC and 3" nameless header back.

I recall reading that the 2.5" exhaust is actually suggested for NA setups, and that the 3" is for people with or planning on going with FI. I think this was actually on the product page for the exhaust packages on Nameless' website. Wasn't the 2.5" even showing better numbers on a stock NA front end?

Also think I heard that with one of the prototypes of the header, the 3" was extremely loud.

Is this still the case? Would a 3" be overkill, even with the header? With the header being 3" outlet, wouldn't having it step down to 2.5" without a gradual transition be bad?

I ask for both wanting best performance (I'd prefer better mid range toque over top-end power) and noise (want to keep it pretty quiet).

Getting the most NA power will unfortunately make it quite loud. Pretty much everyone agrees that these cars make more power with 3" exhausts, even with bone stock engines, so it's just up to you if you can take the extra noise daily.

Yes, the 3" is overkill with a header. It drones, it rasps. I would only stick with 3" if you're going 500 HP, otherwise, 2.5" is just fine.

Surely you just need enough silencing to shut it up?

then you've got a no limits / FI ready exhaust thats usable every day

Unless Nameless puts a much larger resonator in the midpipe and beefier mufflers on the axleback, it won't be very quiet. I tried to do that setup and hopefully just have my exhaust ready for FI, but its just too much for a daily with mirrors\windows vibrating, drone, and the rasp.

I'm sure we'll see a few setups pop up with Nameless from the port to the bumper with both the 3" and 2.5" setups. Looking forward to see (and hear) the differences before my own purchase.

I heard a custom 3" exhaust that replaced everything but the header. It was unbearably loud. I cant even fathom the same setup with an aftermarket header.

A full 3" is tolerable in a turbo b/c the turbo is one damn good muffler. In a sc or NA, going 3" beyond the front pipe nets you minimal tuned gains and maximal auditory annoyance.

For NA, 3" aftermarket vs 2.5" aftermarket isn't going to improve much, so stick with 2.5" and keep the noise down. With sc, I've decided to go 3" on header, overpipe & front pipe w/ catted front & additional resonator, plus 5" muffler w/ 2.5" inlet on the axleback & keep stock midpipe.

It'll let the supercharged engine breathe better while not droning & rasping.

That's what I figured out after having spoken with Nameless a few times on the phone about what I wanted with my brz.

I would also like to know if these headers would clear a Vortech supercharger

I've read somewhere of the p&l long tube headers not fitting due to one of the pulleys'extended width. Interested in this header fitting with the jackson sc.

I saw a thread of p&l headers with I believe a Vortech or Innovate supercharger and it had plenty of clearance. But comparing those with the nameless headers, it seems the secondary runners come up a lot higher and since they are 4-2-1 the secondaries take up twice as much horizontal space in front of the engine. I doubt they will work together, but if so that would be a good option to upgrade to later on without having to replace the headers.

If the headers will need to be replaced for any FI, I would definitely go turbo instead.

I haven't seen any fitment issues with the P&L header as far as vortec or innovative fitment goes. the only issue was the exit angle of the downpipe causing be over pipe to touch the cross member, but that has been fixed. Gmookher and @charged86 are both running that combo with no issues.

this is true you will for see more issues with fa20club's header coming awfully close to the vortex box. the pandL is much lower when it does its "up and out" bend.
