You can do unlimited with Sprint still, Tmobile I believe has some unlimited plans, and Verizon has unlimited if you sign up for a business account.
I tether off my phone, which is unlimited on a business plan.

Apparantly you can get USB audio working with a Micro II, which is pretty cheap, but still much better than the onboard realtek dac.

nicely done man, do you have a vid of the setup in the veloster? sounds like you did a lot of work in that setup too.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I don't want to have a mounting bracket and the whole tablet exposed. I'll be following this thread. Thanks a for doing the work on this and sharing.

You just use the factory bracket inside the dash to mount the Pioneer, you just need the correct screws.

This is the Veloster Demo vid of the software on there.

Can the Nexus be used as a monitor? What I mean is, can I send video to it from an outside source with some sort of adapter maybe to 3mm jack or something..

You said the big problem with it is the sound quality.. I am thinking about putting in an external media player to handle the audio part - but would need a way to get video to the screen. Any ideas?

The sound quality was bad with the chinese tablet I had with built in head unit.

The Nexus with Pioneer combo is much better.

So next up this week.

1. Re-vinyl the plastic trim pieces on the dash with a satin black (No Carbon Look) $30 for vinyl.

2. High quality cables (Monoprice) $5

3. Pioneer external hardware remote. (Pioneer CDMR-70 Amazon $30)

4. Root tablet.

5. Final fitment and testing and wire cleanup.

I finished my ELA version for Android. Over the next year I am going to work with developers to commercialize a release.

Here is a quick screen screen shot of the final interface for the FR-S.
