Question Turbo Basics for Our FR-S?

Is there anywhere on here that explains Turbos like basics so someone like myself with no experiences with them can begin to understand how they work and or the methodology of the amount of Boost, what would be acceptable with a Stock intake,
Is there such a thing as a moderate system that just wants a mild boost of say 50 - 100 HP?
Sorry if my questions sound silly to those that know already; but if you don't know you have to start somewhere, and many folks on here seem to know quite a bit about them and I would just like to get started so I will know and not make incorrect decisions from ignorance.

Thanks for any help you folks can provide.
Even if the reading is elsewhere like a suggested Book or something

Can we compile all this information into a spreadsheet instead? Like brand, price, expected power gain range, release date, known problems, tech specs, comments. We can perhaps have people rate them as well?

+1
I concur.

I'm on the fence whether to go FI or stay NA. Currently this is my daily driver so I want something reliable, so maxing out HP is not a must (ie not drag racing)

Where is the @MAPerformance kit? I know it's a work in progress but it should be on the list.

has anyone fabricated a TMIC for a turbo kit for this engine yet?

Found this lil gem:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13192

The hood needs to fit the indents in the bumper around the emblem and I think if the scoop was a tad bigger, maybe throw on some 22b style vents on the side...would be one mean looking hood.

I want to see more on the STS rear mounted turbo.
I've always wanted to give that setup a try.

I wondered the same thing and got this response:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ght=Full+Blown

Seems as the piping is the main problem in that situation.

On that note, I still want to see if anyone can utilize a TMIC in a turbo kit. A functional hood scoop would add some mean looks to the twins

I have a suggestion, can you mark which systems are CARB-Legal and which ones aren't? @subatoy
