Except the stock intake shows IAT at ambient temps while in motion, so I'm not sure how you plan on getting cooler air than that.

So, you agree it's NOT a restriction up to 300 HP, but then it IS a restriction at the current power levels(around 200 HP)? I'm not following your reasoning. All of the "cold air induction" systems pull air from the same spot the stock snorkel does, so the air temp is going to be the same. I have ambient air temp & IAT displayed side by side on my Torque setup, and they usually run within a couple of degrees of each other at speed. I don't see where a CAI would improve that to any measureable degree.

wow, great post.

in summary, seems like cutting a slit along the 2 resonators at the bottom of the snorkel is better to capture the incoming air.
maybe just removing the two small resonators help with restriction ?

IMO, with headers and exhaust, a modifications on the intake (decrease the resistance) will not only help the engine breath better, will enhance the exhaust sound.

Estimated Release early 2017 as DIY kit.

The final version will be prettier and fit behind the factory grill.

i want to see comparisons on how it will do against the hks and greddy snorkel. i currently have the greddy snorkel but if the ace snorkel does better, definitely gonna buy.

I trust aces engineering for sure but cutting up my own snorkel seems like a good way of undoing some very expensive engineering.
