How can take a copy of my ecuTek rom ?


I have tune my car by ectek
And I have cable and USB key




Could I got *.bin file ??


If yes ..how?


If not .. how??

not possible, apparently only expensive Master Tuner version can read and extract actual rom in ecu

my retail + racerom version doesnt have such button

if you remote tuned your car you usually have the rom in your email, but locked so you can flash it but can t open/see/modify it
if local dyno tuned it you would ask the tuner if he could gift it to you, I would think most tuners wouldn t do it but well just try, if it s a friend of course you ve more chances

No version can read a ROM and open it. You can only submit to EcuTek, that is an option on all versions. To open you need the original flash file, whether you can see the file or just log depends on whether it is locked or not.

OP - contact your tuner and get him to email it to you.

but i remember well i saw an illustred procedure provided by ecutek with how to do itand there was a Read Ecu near read dtcs
did they remove this ?

It doesn't read the tune off the ECU - otherwise you could read other Master Tuner's work which is what they are trying to protect.

tuners can lock to their dongle to protect their work

anyway i never had this features so yes, we can t read from ecu

yes works if you have tuner version, but only reads if its same dongle id that flashed/created tune, ie you can only read your own tunes, or possibly stock roms with no dongle coding
