Not that I'd be opposed, but no. I just want a FR-S/BRZ that I could beat the living shit out of and it still begs for more.

Sadly, a few years ago at least, this was true.

It's coming back I think.

Look up the name Ted Klaus, he recently talked about how phenomenal the ITR was to test at Nurburgring. Look at what he's doing now, even though I don't agree with the choices, I think there's some passion and spirit still swirling around inside the Honda beast.

IMO every engineer and product development guy at Honda should be forced to drive the following before starting every project: S600 roadster, S800 Coupe, 88 CRX Si, a DC2R and a S2000. If they can't explain what makes each special or desirable (and the negatives of each)... fire them on the spot.

I'm all freaked about by the seals. Can some one link me to something that explains the issue better?

hahaha lines like that remind of first time rotary owners or people ignorant to rotary engines always thinking they're going to blow up... *sorry off topic*

10-15k pure race miles.

It's a rock star IMO.
Honda's B-series truly is amazing. My B17A has over 300k on it and still spins like a top to 8100 rpm. Burns no oil and has never had any internal work. Even gets 30-32 mpg hwy which is odd b/c I believe it was rated 26-28 by the EPA. And the engine is still so smooth! Makes the FA20 feel rough and coarse by comparison.

If Honda had a comparable vehicle to the FRS, or an S2000 hardtop model, that is probably what I would be driving right now.

Dude, It is clearly an issue and I'm not actually freaked out I was kidding. However, I would like to know more information as I will be tracking my car a bit next summer, I would like to be prepaired. Additionally, rotorays (with turbos) run like pieces of timebomb shit if not CAREFULLY modded and no one willing to learn to become a mechanic should own one. I am friends with the owner of one of the leading RX-7 shop in the united states and have been around plenty of the cars.

haha lighten up, wasnt attacking your ego. just was funny because it seems
like frs/brz owners will now also start freaking out about their seals the same way noob rotary owners freak out about their apex seals. im sure your rx7 friends would find it amusing.

I would but true to Honda fashion they would probably make it, call it a "type R" and not sell it in the USA.

Killer track cars. Super reliable with normal maintenance, fun to drive, capable enough, cheap as hell to run, holds everything you need to go to the track plus an inflatable sofa for Team Lazy style.
Why are you looking for an R? Didn't you just sell yours? lol

Cause I have issues?

Just wouldn't mind an ITR track car instead of the GS-R.. move parts over, part out the rest, etc.

They are certinly loyal to the engine despite multiple nightmares lol. I have several friends who drift 86's and for thousands of miles and have never had issues... I wonder what the real underlying DI seal issues are.

I don't see what's so funny. It is a fact that rotaries, even perfectly maintained ones with all reliability mods live very short lives relative to halfway decent piston engines. If the FA20 is in the same category, count me out...
