Well some systems it would be, but with the Kraftwerks external belt, it's not completely a failure point. You're still able to drive

Just out of the blue. Just notice that the car was not going on boost, pop the hood belt is just hanging was not even driving the car hard. Just regular City driving. Oh well...

Actually happy that I went with KraftWerks or else I'm stranded somewhere right now. Kit's failure point not even close the belt not really sure how good they are.

Not going to happen on 91 octane.

The regular c30 puts out 240-260 on 91 octane here in CA. I believe you guys in AZ get the same 91 we get.

I have seen a few big turbo like a GT3076R maxes out at 280-290 on 91 here in CA.

The knock is limiting power tremendously. That same GT3076R makes 330-340 on 93 octane in other states that have 93. I have seen the c30 blower makes 270-280ish on 93 octane.

that's One of the reasons I didn't go with the sprintex. Having the ability to still get home is awesome.

I don't think, just go home. "Ability to continue your life until a new belt gets delivered".

That's exactly why I went with Kraftwerks. Having the car completely down is not cool.

You can limp somewhere that's about it, not drive around like nothing happened. Belts shouldn't break in the first place. Is there some count of snapped belts per kit somewhere? Would like to see which kits are more prone to belt breakage.

Is it acceptable to say that the life of our belts would be under 1 year ?

I guess it's time for the "Smaller Pulley's"?

I remember someone mentioning a video on how to replace the belt without removing a bunch of parts, was it ever posted?

Sent you an email!
I'll get this taken care of first thing Monday!

I'm pretty sure can drive around, it's all about the tune. Correct me if I'm wrong @KraftWerks

Your tune is set up for boost, so down in low rpms, driving really slow, you can limp home, but you're not supposed to be driving around like that for prolonged periods. I wouldn't consider that driving under any normal circumstance anyway...

If you're curious, just drive around town for a bit with it off. Pretty sure you'll be filled with fear, not elated that you're limping around town.

I'd rather feel secure that it's not prone to breaking to begin with, something you don't find out with new to market kits until after a period of ownership and reviews from other consumers comes out. At this point it's happened often enough that I'd like to look into whether it's a general trend or a design flaw. If it happens less than other kits, then that speaks to excellent design, while if it happens more often, it says the opposite.

@zoth you'd have to try it quickly though, everyone knows their customer service is quick! You'll probably get your new belt within a couple days. Props to Kraftwerks for the speedy service!

To be honest the car is not limping, it's just like back to being NA with an E85 tune.

Are you on C30 + 91? Then maybe you can barely tell since the hp gain is low anyway. The power drop for me at that time was something like 30% of the power, probably not even that much since I'd have to redline to make that number.

I've done NA w/ e85 (currently doing that while preparing and installing other mods) and a broken belt was nowhere near right now. Not even close...

EDIT: I see you're running the same FlexFuel kit on E85 close to 100% of the time. Its surprising that you feel they're the same.
