I just don't trust a kit that doesn't come with an intercooler.

Most reliability issues come from cheap fittings and poor installs. You could take most any kit and take some time doing a high quality install and be just fine.

Things like quality vacuum hose with clamps. AN oil lines not just push on hose. I upgraded my waste gate reference lines to braided stainless, loosing one of those is bad news real quick.

One thing that is nails on a chalk board to me is turbo setups that have 15 things spliced into one small vacuum line. Components only work better without the spider web of vacuum lines.

A CARB kit like the Works may be reliable. But, then again, what do I know....

I have an AVO kit with a tune from FT86 Speed Factory. I haven't had any issues in the 11 months or so I've had it installed.

Hooray! More annoying vague complaints about the forum. If you don't like it here, why don't you go over to HondaTech? I'm certain you'll fit in just fine.

I think Crawford still owns the only Crawford kit ever sold and he has to upload a new tune every day.

Lots of topics on this already.

Look up the stickied thread that lists good turbo setups for DD. Find a good tuner. Make sure you install all supporting mods.

You again.... you going to complain again and not offer any explanation, or respond to anyone challenging your point of view? that was your intention? Well then kindly take a seat over there and let people who don't talk in random blanket statements discuss things.

I like the looks of the AVO kit for a daily driver. However, a simple survey of issues with the SBD kit is a good start considering they probably outsell everyone else many times over. Many issues will not be the fault of the manufacturer though, and you need to be able to know what is/isn't.

In summation there is no answer to the OP's question. Far to many installer variables.

Here are 3 factors you might consider:

-type of turbo/housing/bearing, manufacturer quality
-quality/consistency of piping and intercooler
-design and routing of piping and turbo location, how it relates to heat management, and what addition supporting work needed to mitigate it.

Simplest probably better for consistency. Another reason I like the look of AVO.
