They're round and hold air. They're the right size for the tires you mentioned running. They're lighter than OEM, and they're inexpensive. Sounds like they'll deliver just fine.

Exactly. I spent quite some time looking for them w/o luck. The best wheels are Enkei RPF1 and OZ Ultraleggera for 16 inches as of now. The Sparco one I found is heavier by about 3 pounds. I am very curious why the Sparco in Rally Gold is about 1 pound lighter than other colors. This is what I see on tirerack.com. Typo?

I wasn’t really looking at extreme weight saving when I got mine, just didn’t want to break the bank.

I have a set of these
https://pmctire.com/en/wheels/dai-al...t-40-73-1.tire

And these
https://www.motegiracing.com/product...achined-flange

Both were less weight than OEM just can’t remember by how much

Both are pretty heavy. About 2 pounds more than the Sparco one. Also the OEM is a 17 inch wheel, these are 16 inch. With more tires, the combo might be heavier than OEM if you use these two wheels.

BTW, 215 50 16 is a really weird size. One two lack luster choices on tirerack.com. I finally realized why folks here tend to choose 205 55 16 instead. I probably will do the same.

With tires they weighed in slightly less but not enough to make any difference. The 205/55 r16 is a great tire size imo

if you want to drop to a 50 series tire with a 16" wheel, then the size you want is 225/50, not 215/50. Plenty of choices in that size and it works very well with a 16x7.

215 was simply never a size needed for 16". Most 15" wheels were 195, so the next size up was always 205.

There are a few 215/45 but then you’re back to low profile tires again

I agree. Some suspensions can manage them but you the risk to break a belt or rim is compounded.
