Got mine. Still deciding if I should have it done or not. Either way, New York is still a few months away from being nice enough to drive the car. So it will have to wait.

I got mine for the BRZ. I'm just letting it go since I'm SC now, not letting the dealer touch it.

Its a 12 hour repair. No chance in hell I'm allowing the dealer to do that job.

Either have a <2% chance of it occurring to your engine or a 100% chance of the dealer fucking something else up...

My thought is: if it hasn't failed in 45k miles, 15k of which are track miles, I probably wasn't affected. So I am 99% sure I will not be getting the recall done.

Now that is a steal. Hope to see you up and running again this next season. Do you do any NASA Md-Atlantic events?

I might be at the Pitt race event. I love that track so much. My team has also mentioned a VIR Hyperfest trip but I am not sure at the moment. I usually post here on the events I am headed to a week or so in advance.

Super. I will miss the Pitt race, and unfortunately I'm missing HyperFest too due to a wedding. Either way, I wish you a great season!

@Takumi788 can you elaborate on the free AC delete and how it works (while the pulley being there)? I am getting some serious stripping and caging my car too so wanted to get some insights please (so I can share with my builder).

Thanks,

Lutfy

I'll skip Hyper but attend VIR in March and Summit April. Any chance to see you there? I am also getting the car caged up and fully stripped. Made 195whp on E85 uncorrected, 185 corrected, 174 average. So have room to drop weight to be 15.3 compliant. In TTD was very competitive with the TT5 guys so looking forward to better hp/weight ratio for next year with added chassis stiffness.

Cheers,

Lutfy

Sure thang. When you remove the bolts from the compressor unit the compressor splits apart in 3 pieces. Simply remove the 2 closest to the firewall and the parts that are inside. There is some nasty oil in the housing to be ready with some rags. There is a large e-clip that holds the pulley on. Don't remove that but remove everything else. Then bolt the part with the pulley back on the car in 2 front mounting locations. I have a feeling the pulley bearing may not last long like this since the back of it is exposed but this is what the Pirrelli World Challenge guys do and they told me they never had an issue. Hopefully this helps.

Check out my website post for more info: JHerbertRacing

Here are some additional pics for more detail.

Glad to see the progress, I'm from up your way (MA), but live down in Virginia now. If you head to VIR at some point shoot me a PM! It's always nice to have more 86's.

I'll probably go to a couple NASA events and Porsche Club events (they are super relaxed).

Got a few things buttoned up last night. The oil cooler, rad, headlights and rear bumper are installed. I also purchased a new front control arm to replace the bent one.

I was recently selected to be a Whiteline Performance Suspension ambassador so I bought a bunch of Whiteline stuff for the front LCA. Lower inner front & rear bushings and their recently re-released roll center/bump steer kit.

All I need is a new crash beam and I will be able to put the front bumper on. Then all that is left is re-purchasing some Verus aero goodies.

Over the weekend I ordered a crash beam and also purchased a used car trailer. I found a trailer locally made by the company I was planning on ordering one through. It is a few years old and needs a little TLC but it is solid. Now I just need a vehicle to tow it. lol.

A little vinyl goes a long way. Can't even tell I hit the armco now. lol
