Sorry but I agree with @993Fan. If WOT gets you better mileage, everyone would be doing it. Plus the FR-S is rated for 34 mpg highway (auto)...
Great that you love the FR-S, but let's not glorify the car too much and enjoy it for what it is |

I'm actually curious to what cruising speed gets the best mpg... I believe it to be somewhere between 65-68

Driving WOT I get somewhere around 15-18mpg. Cruising in eco mode is 36-37mpg. No way can you cruise close to redline in 6th gear and get anything remotely above 20-22mpg unless you use a subspace generator and dilithium crystals. |

No, definitely not. When I'm at the track (the only place I can think of where, when you're on the throttle, you're flat out most of the time), I'm getting something like 4-6 mpg.

I've had to drive several times through an hour or so of back roads, where the speed limit is 35-55mph and small-town cops love to write tickets. So I've cruised at ~45-55mph for long distances several times. I easily get 34+ mpg on those trips, even with hills & stop signs/lights on those routes.. and I drive a manual.
