All I see in this thread is a bunch of frustrated guys that are too poor to afford anything with Cosworth badge on it.

And that was my main point. The resale value of a car with a Cosworth kit vs any of the other kits is going to be higher for more people; regardless of whether or not the kit is "better" than the other kits.

But that particular Tomei product looks like crap compared to the nameless one. The Tomei looks like a re-badged vivid racing/agency power header. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/2...-p-157316.html |

boom, now we can all be happy and get back to blowing eachother because we all have the dopest cars on the planet. Quote:
More accurately the whole concept of spending x more up front to get y more at resale where x is atleast 2x greater than y and x is also 50% greater than alternative option z is a terrible idea. That "return" is never actually realized when you factor in the initial increase in investment. Its like when people buy the fully loaded model of a car for an extra 25% justifying it that the car will be worth more later on and then find out at resale it only adds 10% to the value of the car over a base model. |

Rotorex blowers have their own oil cooler, which is kind of nice for peace of mind on track. My car felt great on track all summer, and it looks like popping an engine will happen no sooner than next season, if not later. But i thought we were talking about resale? |

You get a pass since english isnt your first language. Bur if you go back and read, you'll pick up that im more or less using the nameplate nutswingers to up my post count, and smile a little. Its the elitist attitude thats drawing majority of the negative attention, not the product. If the claims of uniqueness (lol oil and filter) and superiority actually have produced a superior product, fantastic. Thats good for everyone.

Tomei is another highly respected race engine company, however they are limited to just that. Race car parts many times will cost less than a street car counterpart because racing teams will see certain things as disposable, made for a few races a season and junk. They will be designed less all around. Who cares if that race header is loud, or had no low end, or idled funny, or even leaked a little bit. Race cars parts are for race cars. So is HKS, and Kraftworx etc. And for a company like Vortex to have their customers do the r&d for them on the street, I'd hate to be that guy.
As stated above, not many aftermarket tuning companies also have street car experience. When manufacturers ask a company like Cosworth for help on their engines, it obviously matters. This list includes Audis, M benz, Lotus, and the legendary Ford Sierras amongst others. I guess it was before most of yous time, but yes that Escort Cosworth is keeping up with a high power Supra. all of you trying to associate quality with cosworth like its a 100% given..
doth thou not remember the sti/evo cams? Their miata kits? Their "built" EJ series boxer engines skipping timing belt teeth and shredding valves? bros, I'm all for paying for premium... but let's not associate quality with a shop that has been performing pretty shoddily in their consumer market offerings lately. That being said I lol'd at the guy who tried to say buy a name-brand tuning part for greater resale value |
