I bought RCE yellows, they are perfect. Shops in Calgary are quoting a book rate of 6.5 hours (INSANE) to install.

I could have done it in about 2.5 hrs but the stupid front sway bar end links were super seized. Took me few hours to get them off even with a prybar and air-socket. Bought new ones, 10 mins to install.

You can remove the springs without actually removing the struts entirely, and you don't need spring compressors - you must hold the top nut steady with an allen key when removing the other nut or you will wreck your strut. There are walk throughs in the susp forum, but read them ALL and the links to the shortcut walkthroughs. Darren used an impact on the strut and was just lucky.

I have no mech experience and I was able to do ESC/Header/Springs/headlights etc - because the guides/walkthroughs are so awesome. No way in hell I could do it with just a manual.

Glad to hear it and same here! Coils and wheels on deck. New rubber delivered today. Extended studs and wheel locks hopefully tomorrow if not Monday. Will probably do it all at once. My pad looks like a warehouse right now. This, of course, is very good!

The install is pretty easy. Use the DIY as a guide.
I didn't remove the shocks from the car to compress the springs, I just did it on the car using another jack. Just remember to release the torsion bar first or you will be fighting it the entire way.
And read through the entire DIY before you start. There are a lot of alternate ways to do it mention toward the end of the post.
And the car looks a lot better lowered and handles a bit better.

This is one of the barriers that the internet has cut down over the past 10-15 years. With the advances in camera, image hosting, and fast enough internet, we are able to get highly detailed guids from others that help expand the knowledge of anyone willing to spend an hour reading.

I just discovered something on my car that I have never seen on a manual transmission car before.
It has a gear position indicator on the dash. It's always been there you just need to turn it on.
To turn it on all you need to do is press the ODO/TRIP button 4 times with the key off. It will read "G-OFF". Now press the button again and hold it until it reads "G-ON". Your gearshift indicator is now on. It has a bit of a delay between shifting and indicating because it needs to figure what gear you are in by calculating speed vs. RPM.
I found this in the Hidden Features thread in the General Forum.
Check it out. There are a lot of hidden features the car has that I had no idea existed.

Yep, I enabled it shortly after getting the car. It is a simple calculation of road speed vs rpm when the clutch is out and can be tricked by changing a certain RPM table in the computer (one a tune).

Not such a hidden feature if you RTFM.

Have to admit, with all this battery swapping, I forgot about setting my stereo back to the proper car setting since I only did it once when I got the car. Sounds like trash on the default tC setting. Power off, or in Acc (I forget) hold the volume knob in for the menu, change car setting back to FRS.
