Seems to be hit or miss with some of these installations. Got condensation but if I'm spending $35 on gaskets I want it to work for sure. Is the gaskets and adhesive sufficient?

Four and a half years ago, with the Toyota oem gaskets, I sealed the top of the tail lights (as per my original post) with snow man snot from the dollar store (any waterproof putty will do).

The tails are still dry.
Now after many years, the snow man snot has dried on one tail light and allowed a leak at the usual spot. Had eight ounces of rain water inside.

After draining and drying , I replaced the trunk seal with white paste rubber (flex seal) , and also used it on the new stock gasket so it will last more than ten years this time.

The trunk snowman snot trick still works. It should be done on any gen 1 twin as water will always attack unless the path of the trunk sluice stops flooding the water down.
