Does this work with the 2017 OFT v4 tunes?
I skimmed through all pages and I dont think anyone was able to provide the values to make this work only on aggressive up shift/downshifts.

When I was running a cobb tune on the 13 STI, I would get decent one or two pops during aggressive pulls. That's ideally what I want.

Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction to get that done, or has this not been tested? I definitely don't want the excessive pop corn noises..

If you have ecutek and manual trans you might be avle to achieve pops on shifting by adding some extra ignition retard whan clutch down. I dont think that table is defined in opensource unfortunatly

I see. so this would only be for the pop corn effect on decel or off throttle, just a matter of how much pop corn. Thanks for the heads up!

would not pop on decal unless you pressed clutch. The table controls ignition retard on pressing clutch reliative to manifold pressure.

NA cars run about 25-30 degrees advance at mid to high rpm, so maybe try making the current values that are around 20 change to 30, but only at the higher manifold pressures like arround 1 bar ie atmospheric, if you change the lower ones used at idle car will likey stall at idle if clutch pressed. not played with this so be carefull

i played a bit with it and I tend to lower it overall, the first 4-5 rows i put "5", but i wasn t looking for spontaneous pops on gear change
lowering it will make the revs during blips with clutch depressed very reactive so yes be carefull if you try to lower the first rows
I will try to make the change too as steve suggested, higher value on higher map values to see if it pops during gear change

Would the 2 places to alter the Calid be where it says <xmlid>ZA1JA01G</xmlid> and the other <internalidstring>ZA1JA01G</internalidstring>

i have a Calid of F00C

Thanks

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has been able to achieve pops on neutral.

On my current setup I can get reliable gunshot backfire when down shifting to 4-5k rpm.

I can also pop when I'm in gear with clutch in reving while above speed. But I can't figure how to get it to work on neutral. Doesn't work with neutral clutch in or out rolling or not.

Also I am achieving flames with a stock FP, I've shot a few blue flames from the back.
Setup is --> 2017 BRZ Premium:
Tomei UEL Catless
Invidia N1

Is it also possible to have a launch control set at my 4-5k rpm and have those gunshot blasts continuous Like dem 2step supras woo! I don't think its possible as its on decel.

Doesn't look like some of those fuel over run table are defined in ECUTEK. Maybe in the pro version?

Just wondering, is it possible to get these ''exhaust pops'' on gearchange (upshift)?

i d like to talk a bit about those pops are safe or not

the ecu puts a limit on the negative timing achievable, and that limit is -20 (you can change it but i dont think many tuner change this)
let s then see at a Euro restyling car cold start... almost 2k rpm and timing of -19, independently of the engine load, with an afr that tends to the lean side

Now the pops can be achieved already by putting the timing to -9 at just very load engine load

So why is -9 of timing to make pops dangerous and the cold start at -19 not? is it because of the temperature of the header that is colder on cold start and hotter during cruising/popping?

Garage
Has anyone gotten this to sound good with just catless headers (UEL) and rest of exhaust stock? Currently running Tomei UEL catless headers + stock catback and tried -15 in 0.15 and -6 in 0.20 and I could consistently get pops after driving around for an hour but it only sounded like light popcorn/my car breaking down. I would really appreciate it if someone knows how to get some nice sounding pops with this setup! Thanks
And yes I did read through all 46 pages!
