Not for a moment. Ive driven all the above minus the Veloster because I think its a bad joke. The lexus is just a comfy sedan kind of like my old A4. Its a great car but the driving experience gets lost along the way. 350/370 and the Genesis feel like boats to drive.

I love the way my car looks on the road and parked. I love how it handles and I love how I feel when driving it. If you dont get that for your money than its not worth it to you.

Ok well from the way you are looking at it then no. But this car was never meant to be understood by people who think that way. So if you understand the true joy this car has to offer then you won't question the low price tag for such a unique beauty. (driving enthusiasts only here... go to hyundai if you want impressive interior and overall "quality".

24-25 is all I can stomach for the car. Great to drive but there are cars for 17k that have more features, tech and better build quality. The FRS is all about the mechanical side of things, you are paying for the sports car esque engineering.

My friend always reply to these kind of quote w this quote:

"Stop wishing and move your ass out of the f***ing sofa and get on it!"

If there's a will, there's away.

Don't like the cheap looking interior stuff? Easy, overlay w CF and make it sporty than stock (& gotta say, some custom CF, leather, other awesome interior stuff looks hella awesome).

Don't like low hp/tq? Put turbo/SC to push you back into the seat. There are enough shops making turbo/sc kit to choose from and other shops are making more.

There's no right answer to this. I'm not trolling here. Seriously, if you don't think it's worth forking over your money. Save yourself time, effort, and regret, just don't buy the car. Let other members who have being waiting patiently for the phone calls from dealer for... several months (& some may be yr) to get the car.

If I were you I would hold out for something with better climate control knobs. Sounds like a deal breaker.

I'm going to recycle one of my old post:

History repeats itself everybody. Back then I believe the AE86 competed with more powerful cars but was priced in the same ball park.

Back then it sold for around $11k which is around $25,000 today which is the price of an FR-S. It's competition which included muscle cars with V8s went for around the same. (I JUST saw a receipt of a 1985 Corolla GTS on club4ag)

1984 Camaro V8
1985 Mustang V8
1985 Corolla GT-S original receipt
Inflation Calculator

Anyways it's funny how this idea of the FR-S (and the AE86) being overwhelmingly underpowered was introduced to me in a classic Japanese Anime called Initial D. And it's funny seeing this feud occur in real life! It reminds of that one scene...

[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=ryp1ijSG3rI[/ame]

Okay, not everyone can do that in real life, but this scene represents something metaphorically--the people (who are criticizing the FR-S's lack of power compared to other cars at its price) are essentially Keisuke (the driver of the yellow RX-7) because they think that (for the price) the more powerful car will contribute to it being a better value.

If the lack of power is a deal breaker; then it is a deal breaker. I understand that some people LOVE powerful cars and it's obvious why they'd be disappointed with this car.

-------------------------

Ok, so you might not care too much about power and more concerned about equipment. Well, um...hmm

Just be thankful we're fortunate we get it for 25k MSRP while other countries are getting it for 2x or more of our price.

If you can't see it then I don't think this car is for you. You might want to consider a nice VW or Hyundai.

Basically I paied about 46000 USD for my Car and its totally worth it. At a price of 27000 USD I'd even buy two, one for summer, one for winter. That's how awesome this car is to me

Sir, you make me laugh. In Thailand I had to pay $86,000 and change due to a hostile tax regime on imported vehicles. Still compared to what I can buy here it it the most pleasurable driving experience in the price bracket. I would have a discharge of fluid from the naughty bits if I only had to pay $27k.

I know you said it's not about RWD or the driving experience, but the driving experience is the only thing that makes the car worth it and rwd is the reason for the driving experience and the price.

In order to make a low-volume chassis viable at a low cost, these cars don't have many comfort and convenience features that other cars at and below its price would include.

It's essentially a trade. You can have a great driving experience or features, but getting both will cost another $20k over the price of the FRS.

We got a quote for ~$27,000 for a MT Pearl White FR-S with BeSpoke and stock spoiler. (I honestly didn't even know there was a spoiler option.) I don't want the BeSpoke, but this was for a car that was on the way so why not ask.

Either way, do you really think this car is worth the $26K-$28K?

What do you get? A boxer engine... wheels, which all cars come with... The interior is nice, but the dash looks cheap. Take the knobs for example. They scream cheap! You're not paying for excess power (because there isn't any ). What are you really getting?

This is not about RWD, fun aspect, or anything like that. This is purely about what you get in/with the car.

I am being completely serious, and would like to know what you guys and girls think.

Kev
Well, you certainly dont have a pleasant manner in asking for other peoples time.

Anyway, its worth it if your the kind of person who can overlook the cars faults (cheap interior, lousy paint quality, fairly high NVH, merely quick, not fast, interior space practicality) for its attributes, of which I wont list because whatever positives point you are hoping this car to have,
mate its got them

Ask yourself

Do you smile every time you get into it?

Do you look back everytime you walk away from it?

Do you wash it when it doesn't really need it?

Has getting to 80 km/hr. ever felt so good?

How many other cars have you owned where complete strangers go out of their way to flag you down and tell you what a great decision you have made? All the while driving vehicles twice the price.

Have a new 4 matic mercedes in the other garage and haven't driven it since I got this car. ( 6 months )

Suddenly at the age of 40+ looking forward to modding the car.

Yeah I don't think they are charging enough for this littler gem.

I paid $1000 under MSRP (grad rebate). I would have paid more. I am satisfied.
