The work never ends, the weakest link will keep you figuring and refiguring. Started with a ls1 in 1999 went through two more engines now have a dry sump ls7. Normally aspirated 624 hp. 2000lb. car. Nothing was easy. Evan with what I know and all the parts I have in the garage I do not think I would do it to the BRZ.

Im currently doing an LQ4 6.0L V8 swap (rebuilding the whole top end). I bought the engine, Wiring harness and Computer for less than $2000. Its cheaper than buying an expensive LS motor. (thats just food for thought)
Regardless it wont be easy, no engine swap is easy, it also depends on your individual mechanic and how much knowledge he has, how many engine swaps has he done??? These are all factors you need to consider

Mind elaborating?

I'm still researching a 'newer' platform that I can work 8 cylinders into and have some fun.

My plan is to wait a year or so and find a sala salavage FRS. Hopefully something with a blown FA20- best case scenario.

Anyhow, I can't see a better option out there.

(Please, no one mention stangs or vettes. I enjoy the unique)

Of all the engines out there I like the LS best.
If I had to do it, I would use an LS.
This was a statement on whether I would do it to the BRZ.
a 20K car with a swapped 10K motor setup puts you into the cost of a used higher powered sports car with engineered balance.
I was working in a hotrod shop at the time and I made the mounts and brackets but still had to buy many pieces to make it work.
It took me 7 mo. to get it right. Heat control and drivable tuning were issues I fought for a long time. That said I got an unbelievable 6 yrs of track time before leaving parts all over South Carolina motor sport part.
I am currently using a dry sump LS7 and again I am still fighting tuning problems 624 hp and 575 torque in a 2K lb car means linearity is key.
