Nah they all do it here. Pontiac was the worst around here. We had the car a week and got a letter saying there was a huge demand for 98 Sunfires and to come on in. In order to get the letter in a week they had to have sent it a couple of days after we bought the car.

Please don't go play games with them. They are just trying to make a living and no matter how sleazy it sounds this is an accepted business practice used across the industry. How would you like it if some guy came into your workplace, purposefully wasted your time as a joke and then walked away?

Yeah true, I not going to be a douche to him. I mean I got an appointment for the service anyways, so I'll hear the guy out that's all.

Cool! Be carful though. If they are any good they can make it sound like a sweet deal.

Now THAT would be a good deal for YOU......

You trade in your old FR-S in and get a new FR-S and your monthly payments (0) stay the same ........ jump on it .........

To the OP ........ like they say in the old country "if a deal sounds too good ......."........

Unfortunately people still fall for this. I get emails all the time saying their used car inventory is really low and they NEED my car. This is why these Toyota dealerships get such a bad rap.

Bottom line, the dealers know getting you into the showroom is half the battle. Once they entice you that's when the magic happens (in their favor -they hope).

Give them a call back and tell them, "why you always laaaayyyyinnn'!"

Then offer them $35k for your 'rare' in high demand car. Then when they say no, call them again, then again, then every other day, then every 3 days.... for a month....for fun if you're bored.

I'd go in wearing my 'why you always lyin,' shirt.

Exactly!

That's why it's dangerous to wander up into the showroom, when you're at the dealership to get an oil change ......

Or go to "just look at" that interesting Tc you saw visiting at the cottage next door the prior weekend just because you were waiting for your Lancer to be serviced at the dealer right next to the Toyota one and you had an hour to kill.
Sometimes you end up with a FRS.
Not that this very specific scenario has ever happened to me or anything like that.

i don't understand why everyone jumps on the dealers nuts about getting those kind of offers. it doesn't say you will retain the same exact loan you currently have, it just says you will keep your payments around the same as it is now which it usually does. how is that a scam?

Personally i'd show up at the dealership naked with a full grown beard and explain that I'm a nudest and that I've been living out of my FRS naked for the last 3 years. He's sure to give you a good deal then!
