Just curious which Servco Center did your replacement fuel pump? I find it interesting because I just did my first service and I asked about it. Service writer told me it's a known fact about Subaru boxer engines. Don't get me wrong cause I wasn't asking for them to replace my fuel pump. I get the chirps off and on but I can live with it.

My original pump was making the noise so loud all the time when the engine is warmed up. It was loud enough to hear it even on the freeway when I put the gear into neutral.

After I got the pump replaced, it got 100% quiet for over a year. Maybe 1 1/2 year. Then the noise came back, but it's a lot more quiet than the original one and is on and off. Something I can live with. If yours is making the noise on and off and not so loud, then you probably will get the pump with similar noise if you get it replaced.

I just hope that this will happen soon. That should completely remove the chirping noise for all of our pumps.

Well now the dealer says the new pumps don't fix the issue, so they're going to "look at it"
oh well

Which servco service are you taking it to?
My first service they told me if I wanted the chirping checked out I'd have to leave the car and they'd need to hear it themselves. It doesn't bother me since I listen to my tunes loudly.

Its caused by the ethanol content in the gas. Just FYI, that's why if you can get higher quality fuel mix with less ethanol, the less chirping you get.

What gas does everyone use to counteract the chirping? I'm currently waiting for mine to arrive so I have yet to try out different gas. I currently use Shell V-Power for my current car.

I just let it happen. Seriously considering going in for a replacement pump every time it happens just to be an asshole though.

Although the noise dosent bother me, I had a rather abnormal sound coming from it this time. Almost like a grinding deteriorating sound. performance not affected. No videos but parts are on order. been on straight E85 for the last 30k+ miles.

This replaces the previous 2 listed on their website. New part numbers everytime it seems.
