Car is immobilized to the key, the only ways to steal it are to either have a key or a copy of a key or to put it on a flatbed, cracked windows won't change either scenario.

I guess they could unlock it through the crack and strip it but I think the cars are too new for OEM parts to be worth the hassle...

Toyota directed the design, offered technology, and paid for, Subaru executed so the manufacturing techniques are closer to an Impreza than anything Toyota has built. Not to start a thread about Subaru vs. Toyota, there are sooooo many, just a quick explanation to curtail further discussion.

If using car cover, please go with quality ones that "breathe". Else you'll be trapping moisture under and increase humidity. Thus making certain areas prone to rust.

Gas tank has to be full, so the empty area will not dry rot. I had a SC300 with metal gas tank and guy who was doing the body work too way too long so tank got rusted and the fuel filter on the sump also rotted away.

The only reason I ask is because some are saying I don't need one at all, but I rather protect my car than save $$

my first car was a Subaru and although im driving a Toyota 86 now... im glad that everytime i pop open the hood, i see the word SUBARU.

Turn off all lights, lock the car and take the keys with you.

Upon your return, the battery will be dead, the fuel will have turned to varnish, all tires will be flat spotted, the axles will be bent, the injectors will be clogged, there will be a half gallon of condensation in your fuel tank, the oil will have turned to sludge, the paint will be completely oxidized and the interior will be covered in mildew.

Just rev it a few times and it'll be good as new.

Your car will be fine, if it's still there.

So whatever you do, don't tell anyone your going to be gone for six weeks. Especially don't tell a bunch of people that enjoy the FR-S.

Chances are if it's their first car they are still in high school and havent gotten a job yet

even then, who goes on vacation for 6 weeks? what does his/her parents do to where they can afford to go on vacation for 6 weeks? what place is so awesome you want to stay there for 6 weeks?

im not hating, just wondering. being in the navy ive been to over a dozen countries and up and down the east coast. ive been to some of the most awesome places around the world but non of them could convince me to stay for 6 weeks.......theres just no place like home.

This except Id add an extra step after step 1: cover car. Also skip washing it again if you cover it.

There are alot of my employees that take 2-8week vacations to visit their home country / family (mexico, puerto rico off the top of my head)

Just wash it before to put it indoor. Disconnect battery. and when you come back check tire pressure. Thats'it

Don't forget to reconnect the batteriy :P
