spike021 - - what the hell is WRONG with you? - First off, this is NOT a situation where it is beneficial to be listening to "what someone told you". - Second off, YOU know you want to take a drive so you can enjoy driving your car - right? Third off - you made a "date", so keep it. SHE may not be the "one", but she does have friends - iffen ya get ma drift - news travels. Forth off - this is a situation where YOU are in control, you can make it a short drive to go out for breakfast/brunch OR a longer drive, extending into the late afternoon, evening, night - iffen ya get ma drift - again. Fifth off - here is what I suggest. Keep the "date", stop and have a lite brunch/lunch at a quaint little place (NOT a heavy bacon and eggs place). Along the way, find out what her interests are (gift shops, antique shops, whatever shops). Then find one along the way and stop in and buy her a nice memento to mark the occasion, don't rush her. Nextly, depending on how the day goes, formulate a plan for the evening … or not. This way, you get what you want to do (drive your car on fun roads) and enjoy the company of a lady and she gets to do some shopping and receive a nice gift. Win-win. Questions? humfrz |

Went up bear creek road to boulder creek and back down 9 to Saratoga yesterday afternoon. beautiful day, but the roads have a lot of mud, water and debris from the storms running across the road in spots. Lots of slippery spots, so be careful driving in the hills.

OK, hot water heater update:
As you may recall, last Friday, our hot water heater sprang a big leak, so, I had to shut it down. Mind you, this happened right before a three day holiday. So, I arranged (I thought) for a replacement and install. Now, it's Sunday morning and a new hot water heater arrived late Friday afternoon - However, the "install" part of the order got lost along the way - NOBODY in these parts works on a three day holiday weekend - Why? They say that since it's a "gas" heater they need a permit from the county - which ain't open because of MLK day. So, I type this very quietly, because mrs humfrz is still sleeping and I just know that when she wakes and there is still no hot water, she is going to be like a dirty, hungry mother bear, waking from hibernation and best that pa-pa bear get the hell out of her way. To be continued - humfrz |
