Clean and cheap is the hard part, and with how picky people can be about what 'clean' means (it varies between: minor blemishes are ok to factory fresh perfect). But assuming you mean ~$15k max and no obvious blemishes, <70k miles, and no bodywork required based on ad alone.

I found one on Craigslist

Zero on Autotrader
Zero on Cars.com

This one is crashed by the way, no VIN tag on the trunk lid:

Well cool this makes me feel a little better about my car's value

A lot of patience is needed. I started looking in March. By August, I had looked at 4 cars, but each had something I didn’t like, such as questionable body damage on cars with “clean” CarFaxes. I was progressively increasing my budget to widen the field of potentials, since I wasn’t finding any good examples. The 4th one was a 2015 with only 10k miles, so I expected it to be in great shape. But no. It clearly had body damage that was fixed badly. By early September, I was about to give up & go look for a different model car altogether, since I was beginning to think that all used twins had damage. That’s when I saw that a 2015 with 21k miles that I had been watching, get a price reduction. It had been on the market for 2 months but had been too expensive for me until now. With the price reduction, it was now within negotiation range of my price, although the price reduction and the fact it had been sitting for 2 months made me wonder what was wrong with it. I set up an appointment to see it, fully expecting to again be disappointed. To my surprise, the car was absolutely beautiful and pristine, inside and out, and my search was over! So I say, have patience...It’s a cool car that’s worth the wait.

My advice would be to shop craigslist by owner only.

Go and look at these cars at the seller's home. Note the cleanliness of their garage, age, maturity level, etc. Don't settle for riced cars that have been owned by kids. Look for a clean, unmodified, low-mileage example. Try not to be picky about the color. If it helps, figure on having the seats reupholstered to make the color scheme more palatable. I'm a big fan of the auto after 30k miles. These cars are very easy to live with on a daily basis.

Come to NC...I drove this one a month ago...It was pristine, but, with 70K...offered $14,000 out the door and never heard back...I'd guess you could get it for $500-700 more...

I checked the market weekly for months before I finally found a really good deal on a 2017 BRZ limited with the performance pack option. Had to make a 4 hour trip from GA to NC for it, but was worth the wait.

I got some door dings before learning how to park the car to avoid them, and even then I got a couple more. I had a dealership swap my plugs at 60K miles, and they dented the fender when they lifted the engine, it looks like from leaning heavily on the top edge of it. I have rock dings in my hood as well.

If I were looking at used ones, I would kind of expect dents. The only way you're not going to have dents is if the prior owner just left it in the garage all the time and never drove it.

On mine, I'm going to keep collecting dents until it's time for a repaint, then have them all taken out at once. And then the process will start all over.
This is kind of the approach I've taken... I used to fret about every little dent and scratch but since moving to a worse part of NJ the car has been enduring a heavy beating on the local roads...

I've just come to terms with the fact that I can't protect it from everything

My thing with cars is when you are in the cockpit you can’t see the dents, scratches or faded paint. If it’s fun to drive I could care less what it looks like. The Twins looking really nice is sort of a bonus for me.

I firmly believe if I continue to drive mine long enough it will slowly transition from red to full white (primer under red is white for those that don't know).
