hahah, it's true. One time my dad called me and when I was accelerating slowly away from a stop sign he stopped talking and was like "What is that noise?" "Oh.. That's my car"

"Wow... Sounds great!"

Lol I pretty much don't bother trying to take phone calls in my MR2.

Also have some 5.25" and 6.5" speaker sets. It looks like our front dash and rear seat speakers are 4" though and according to Crutchfield, there aren't any direct replacements due to mounting style and magnet depth.

That's a tough choice between the two head units. Both have three sets of 4-volt pre-amps. If it were me, I'd go with the Alpine since it has better radio station pick up, and seems like it has more tuning. However, I hated not having BT. lol

The OEM+ systems are looking more and more attractive
Yeah. I thought it was super expensive for what you get, but actually hearing it and comparing to making a system similar it iant that bad. Plus it is oem quality in function and ease of install which is worth quite a bit imo.

Just do a front stage setup. Front speakers and rear sub only. Still sounds really good.

Yeah, but part of me is like if I'm going to mess with it, I should do it right. I bet even if I re-wired the stock speakers with new speaker cable and fed them a clean 35-50w from a dedicated amp they would sound a lot better.

Damn, again!? That ProSolo did you in huh?

I've found Luis at Carson Toyota consistently has good prices. But shipping an axle might be a bear.

Yes again! It started clicking again on Friday practice before the pro solo but it survived all the way through the tour the following weekend thankfully!!! The Pro Solo alone was 18 launches at about 5k RPMs on super sticky and warm tires on concrete that was like Sand paper. I was pretty sure I was gonna break the car. Lol. I don't have another even planned until July 19-20 so I figured now is a good time. It's clicking every time I move the car so I doubt it's got many more launches left in it.

However the pro solo was amazing!! Imagine going to the drag strip and after you hit the 60ft mark you start a super fast autoX course into 3rd gear. It's super fast passed too. They run classes at a time so you literally finish the left course and by the time you get back to run the right course you're watching the car in front of you stage already!

The tour was amazing too. Even though you only get 6 runs all weekend the courses were crazy difficult and crazy fast. Both days had about 60 second laps (Sunday was modified reverse of Saturday) and on Sundays course I spent over 25 seconds of my best 61.7 raw time in 3rd gear! Right after the 1st turn it was straight to 3rd gear! It was really good to practice my downshifts too!

Anyway way worth breaking my car over. Plus it makes me feel like a badass to not give a fuck if I break my car. Lol.
