It's been in for a while now. Any further feedback on sound and functionality?

Has anyone installed this in a 2017 and verified the steering wheel controls, rear cam and mic are plug and play?

Does the radio work? I thought the frequency was different for tuning in Asia? Only other downside I see is that the controls are designed for RHD. Even so this seems like the cleanest way to get car play. Would be really nice if kenwood would officially release this in North America

The radio works great. It has really over powered the factory speakers and I have ordered dash, door and rear speakers to replace the crap ass stock Subaru speakers

Where in Alabama are you? I'm up in Madison/athens. How do you feel about the apple car play or android auto (if you're using either of them.)

I'm right outside of Selma Al. I haven't used many features of the radio other then the Bluetooth to be honest. I've been working on my other cars and really haven't even thought about it but I will loo into the android auto soon.

The eBay link states that the player is setup for region 3 DVDs, meaning it'll play DVDs manufactured for distribution in southeast Asia mostly. US and Canadian folks need region 1 players. Other than ripping and stripping the codes from any DVDs you wish to use in your car, is there a workaround for this issue, i.e., an option to reprogram the player for different regions? Computer drives typically allow you five region changes, I think...

Just ordered the DDX917WS. I'll try to get some pics/vids when it arrives and for the install.

Please do. The Starlink head unit on my new to me 2016 BRZ is trash.

The buttons being on the right side of the Kenwood bothers me and also I don't like capacitive volume buttons. But it seems like a good unit with the perfect fitment bonus.

I just went through the "painful" process of installing the DDX917WS in my 2017 BRZ. Wasn't horrible, but there wasn't much info about getting it in a 2017. Everything works including steering control and the stock backup camera.
