Of course it's not actually square rate if one takes into account motion ratios.

No rating is valid according to this logic, which defeats the purpose. Rating gives you idea of behaviour, so the knowledge of vectoring ratios can be approximated. In other words, your statement isn't relevant.

Thanks for the insight. I'm just debating if Koni's or B6s

RCE says B6 is the way to go, but I have no personal experience.

Stock 2017 shocks aren't bad, but the Bilsteins are better. Four track days a year is solid...I'd go for the Bilsteins.

for what its worth my '13 is running on RCE yellows with camber bolts and new rear LCAs and I'm very happy with the feel and I do the occasional HPDE.

Any idea if the 2017 Toyota 86 has similar suspension changes as the 17 BRZ? Someone local has a stock suspension setup from a 17 86 for $150 with 200 miles on it. Wasn't sure if this thread was mostly talking BRZ or not.

From all accounts the 2017s are now identical. Except for the BRZ PP of course.

I’ve been doing an obsessive amount of research on what to do with my tired old shocks on my ‘13 BRZ and I always come back to this setup. Your team seems to really know their stuff and I feel like I can’t go wrong with the B6/Yellows setup for a DD on rough NY roads and salty winters with an occasional spirited run upstate or track day.
