I ordered two from an Internet parts distributor and received 650's I am using heat tape as well, hoping they will survive a while longer at the track.

Anyone care to tell me how you removed the 10mm lower ECU bracket bolt ?
I can't get a socket on it to save my life.

NM Was going after the wrong bolt.....gonna be a bitch getting some of these bolts started back in, not much room to work with for sure.

Failing coil replaced, car runs up to redline with no issues anymore!

Wanted to share some additional perspective on this:

Cel started coming on more frequently during daily driving, 6000 rpm would activate it.

Gas mileage had dropped to below 23 mpg average

Car would hesitate and sputter (stalled once) as you pulled to a stop and seemed sluggish in general.

Strange fuel smell in the cabin especially with the fan on high. Possibly unburned fuel??

During the couple sessions that I ran with the cel there was a profound change in the traction / stability control. I had turned it off with the 5 second switch but it was really nuts whenever I had high rpm high g load corners. Motor cut and rear brakes grabbed to the extent that I nearly lost it.

With the new coil, all of these street issues are gone and it feels like I am running the E85 tune compared to how the car was running up till now. The power difference is enough to tell the difference. Even the exhaust note standing outside the car at idle sounds different.

It would appear that when a coil gets this bad, there are multiple symptoms present even if the cel is intermittent.

I've got the same code, cylinder 1 coil is out. My question is would a Perrin crank pulley woud my warrentee for that. I'm afraid the dealership will say it's the reason for misfire, only other mod is airfter and invidia catback?

If you're worried, change it out first.

No power improvement but the engine seemed to run smoother.

Something like the above. Could have a hole drilled where the coil bolts in so you install the shield with the same bolts.
On an interesting note, after I installed my Nameless headers (which are ceramic coated) and I haven't seen mine fail again (knock on wood).

I'm planning on pulling my header and OP in my time off next month and having them ceramic coated as well. Couldn't hurt to lower engine bay temps significantly.

Thanks for the update. Makes me feel better about having my JDL header thermal coated

Thanks.

After almost 8k track miles without a hiccup, something was bound to happen! Only downside is it's a P0352 (drivers side rear), which looks to be the hardest place to reach. shit.

I've done it.

At the track.

On a hot engine.

I unbolted the shield for the high pressure lines and moved it out of the way a little bit. It shouldn't be too bad on a cool engine.

I've killed a coil on the track too, it was replaced under warranty, had no issue at the next event, although it was significantly cooler outside.
