It is true, you get what you pay for. And I paid for the UEL sound. Not sure what I'm getting no performance wise, but for 400 bucks, I think I got a decent deal.
The CNT sort of fall into the level of what I meant by quality one just at the lower level of the scale. Didn't mean to save up for the $2K gold plated special edition.

When I refer to "cheap" ones I mean more along the line of the real crap that boarders on fraud but so many guys will get just because it is what they can pay right this minute.

catted headers are pricier but won't be as loud as catless headers and you'll get around 2/3s or half the gains compared to a catless header on a tune. The Gruppe-S uel catless header is also really good quality for the price.

If you're on a budget, I suggest you wait til black friday. JDL had some great deals last year which is when I picked up my catted uel header for the price of a catless header.

For what its worth..

I gutted the cat on my front pipe.. you could see right through it. My car wasn't THAT much louder.

I put on a dual resonated front pipe from 1320 and it surprisingly got a little louder and sounded much better..

This was with my TRD exhaust BTW.

Tracking on that now.

Funny, I actually consider buying one of those every now and then. Would be interested to see how it holds up, butt dyno feeling, etc.
