I drive my car the same way. Loud downshifts when coming up to stops or on the highway to hear the car. Sending it on the freeway or clear road and take turns like I'm on the Nürburgring. I literally don't understand when I see people taking their twins like 55 mph on the right lane. An Accord would accomplish the same task, but it's not my money.

I don't mean to come off as an asshole driver or give us a bad name. I still follow important rules of the road and consider myself a courteous driver. I'll never put anyone's life at risk, but I bought a BRZ to drive it. I'm at about 42,500 miles and no issues. I'm stock and plan to keep it as long as possible. I think we'll be fine lol haven't heard anything catastrophic. I'm always 100% on top of maintenance, let it warm up properly, and overall take care of it as much as I can.

I beat the crap out of my 13 every single day. I also let it warm up before beating on it and I run Castrol Euro Formula 0W-30. 80k miles now, and everything is fine so far. Going in for J02 recall in a few weeks so any abnormal top end wear should get spotted then.

Would it discomfort you buying a used car you know was thrashed?

When I'm in the brz on public road I drive like a grandpa, saving my tread for upcoming trackdays. When I'm on the s1000rr like a bat our of hell. Time and place for everything.
Theres friendly people on the road I do not what to disturb, college chemistry professors, symphony orchestra musicians.
Save for when I need to hear the suction of the supercharger. On a bike ur not really a nuisance, ur just GONE before they even saw you.

If the engine isn't broken now, then I doubt it will anytime soon. There's always risk when opening the engine up. If it were me, I'd just leave it alone and just skip the recall.

This is a car that must be driven hard to get the most out of it. As Chris Harris said, it is a 10/10 car.

I redline it a few times a week, which is probably pretty light by this forum's standards lol.

Lol with just a couple of exceptions this thread is populated by the crowd that will inevitably post:

“I got a ticket for speeding/noise/ being an asshoke and it isn’t fair so I am fighting it”
“This car is crap. I just drove it how it is meant to be driven and it blew up. How do I sue the company?”
“Mustang drivers are all d1cks and just want to race me when I did nothing”
“Is this totaled? It wasn’t my fault”.

I have no doubt that most of the people in this forum open it up when they get a chance but this whole “all the time” thing is either bullshit or just being a diuche.

On my Mon-Fri commute (~30 miles round trip, all highway) I tend to drive "normally", which is cruising at 75-80 MPH here in San Diego. However, on the weekends, I drive the piss out of my car.

No point in driving your car like an old lady just so you can trade it in and have the next guy get a great deal and beat the hell out of it. BUT, also no reason to treat the car like shit.

Lol I see where you’re coming from, but you can’t just assume all that. For me personally, it’s not all the time. Sometimes I like to just cruise down the highway or take the longer route literally just to spend more time driving my car because it’s something I really enjoy. I, and I’m sure many others, understand that you have a MASSIVE responsibility when you get behind the wheel of any car. Not saying I’m a professional race car driver (I wish), but I am saying that I can hoon responsibly lol I know my limits and the car’s limits.

Only the people who bought the car because it’s “cool” or whatever will bitch about tickets, getting smoked, or crashing the car. Others understand what’s at risk when driving and are aware of the consequences of driving the car hard.
