Catted and resonated. Sound levels are very modest. No drone. Quiet unless you're really throttling it.

How quiet would you say it is? Is the sound aggressive or does it seem a little "restrictive" from the resonator. Thanks!

Anyone get a thump from the transmission tunnel every now and then? I'm guessing it's the resonator hitting the tunnel where F1point4 had a rattling issue. I don't get any rattles, but when going over bumps or sometimes on on/off ramps, I'll hear and feel it hit.

Very interested in hearing how the whole setup sounds at the next meet DSOmegaX! It sounded perfect under low loads at the last one.

Based on OP's description also it seems perfect, good growl and pleasant sports performance noise when pushing it and having fun, yet refined and quiet for the daily grind. I really am leaning towards Perrin now after seeing all this...

there are no issues, one just needs to be aware when installing the resonated version-mine made contact initially too, but was able to resolve it by adjusting and going with the perrin hangers.

on the unresonated-which is what I am on now- there is oodles of clearance even for the novice installer

I wouldn't guarantee no issues. It's a mass-manufactured product, and like any manufactured product, there will always be a percentage that has certain defects. It doesn't matter if you pay 500 or 25000 for something, as a consumer you will always take that risk, its just a matter of balancing risk versus benefit in your mind. Mine had small issues, but what I can tell you for sure is that Perrin has continuously been ready to work with me every step of the way to resolve them as quickly as possible, and that is why I continue to support their products.

Just an update, but I was able to get under the car today and I could physically push the resonator into the side of the transmission tunnel and replicate the sound I was hearing. I loosened up all the bolts on the exhaust as well as the metal hanger from the transmission housing and then pushed the resonator away from the side and tightened while I held it in place. I then did the same with the v-band clamps and adjusted all the rubber hangers. I went back and tried to push the resonator into the side and it did not hit.

The real test will be when I take the car for a test drive, but unfortunately I couldn't do that today as I had to get dinner ready for the kids and Hurricane Sandy is hitting soon so it will most likely not be until mid to end of the week before I can see if my tweaks have fixed the issue.

Glad to hear you got the lot sorted out. Be safe up there in this weather.

Thanks. As long as we don't lose power, I can deal with the rest. No power in a house with a 2 and 4 year old is not going to be fun.

I get such a loud raspy sound right where the tq dip starts. It is even worse when the car is cold. I need to switch to the resonated because the header back non resonated is a little raspy.

I do have a custom intake though which may play a part in it.
