3. We thought it was cool

We're selfish in the fact that we design things to help our factory cars improve first. This is not saying a twin tip version can not be aerodynamically efficient, but we hired Andrew Brilliant to help us and this is what we needed. After that we set about meeting the sound requirements.

Yes, there is more work involved to install a center exit muffler then a standard twin tip. There's also more work involved in installing our 4-2-1 headers because of the OP design. Again, that design was because of our specific track needs.

We're just a small shop full of nerds.

For the same reason Prego has 50 flavors of tomato sauce, there are 50 different kinds of exhaust systems. Not everyone like extra chunky...

Thanks for the support everyone and we'll keep updates coming regarding the twin tip version after the holiday.

Happy Driving
Ace Header

I hadn't realized there was an aero component to the center exit design.

My apologies.

How much of a difference are you seeing in cd between the center exit and twin exit?

No apologies necessary. We will have both versions soon and this discussion will be a thing of the past

I can't say exactly what kind of benefits the center has over the twin tip. We have spent a lot of time on the under-car aero and this design fit our needs (for the time being). With this kind of aero project we just listen to the pros, smile and nod.

Disclaimer- To those considering this center exit for aero purposes, be aware that we have a custom designed aero package. A single component by itself may or may not make a huge difference. Each piece is a collective part of the entire car.

Doesn't all of the aero purposes go out the window when you add a diffuser? I'm going with the center exit for aesthetics, but it does take a little more work to look 'right' for the street over the dual tip design so I don't blame people for waiting on that. I installed the Diode Dynamics Turn as Tail kit last week and I have 2 exhaust hole covers ready to go on when the center exit installed, then I'm thinking a Driveway Labs Type 2 diffuser to eliminate any concerns about the 'parachute' effect with the stock bumper. Hopefully it'll be as clean and functional as I'm picturing without going through the work of cutting the bumper and doing something custom.

I've gone a similar route with the turn as tails, exhaust hole covers but with with the Velox diffuser

I've kinda been jumping back and forth between velox and driveway labs. I think if I was going to keep the dual exit design I would go with velox, but I like that driveway labs is constant across the back without the "cut outs" that velox has for a typical exhaust.

Nope. I really like looks-wise damd/prova rear bumper/diffuser w. center exhaust. I guess, depending on exit tips type used maybe it can be used even with this Ace's exhaust. No clue though, how it will work together if one throws also some real diffuser into picture.

I like this exhaust. If I weren't going to a fully custom center exit design I came up with specifically for a highly efficient diffusor I'm also making, and needed to meet tight sound regulations, then it would be exactly what I'd want.

Personally I've never liked the rear 'diffusor' with twin exhaust cutouts on the FR-S... my temporary solution, spurred on by an aftermarket exhaust melting the passenger side cutout was this:

GET RID OF THE STUPID FAKE FACTORY 'DIFFUSOR'.

Cutting it out helped to bring more stability at high speeds too...was more unsettled than stock with the rear plastic in place without a stock type muffler. Eventually, once I get the custom exhaust mocked up then fabbed there will be a custom diffusor in store - like that of the TRD Griffon. Almost all of the premade diffusor solutions still use the stock 'diffusor'....meaning they won't be as efficient as a complete solution designed around a low profile center exit race exhaust that allows you to get rid of that factory nonsense.

The Diode Dynamic Tail as Turn module works great for reverse, especially with the XP80 LED bulbs. Way better than stock, which is pretty useless as a reverse light other than as an indication to others that you are in reverse.

We also have completed a "straight pipe" version with no muffler that will be track tested on the 22nd of Feb and another kit is on it's way to Qatar for more feedback

This version measured 103db at tailpipe at 6,000rpm using complete catless Ace system with just resonated mid-pipe
No packing material, because Smooth is Fast

This kit is not on website yet but cost will be $559
