Had the exact same thing happen while I was renting a house with 2 other buddies in college. Number was one digit off from a sandwich shop that delivered. We would just give up, act like we were the shop. "Ok, be there in 20 minutes." It was very entertaining at times. Never thought of doing that one! |

So my work is issuing new parking permits. The old permits have been around for 50 years and there are just too many in the community. Some businesses near by were even counterfeiting them telling customers to park in our lots. Here is the down side. The new ones MUST be applied to either the bumper or rear window. No more just putting it in the window. Too many employees were taking their permits out of the window and parking in visitor and patient parking areas when convenient. Also, we each only get 1. Well, I'm not sticking anything on any of my fun cars, so I guess, starting Feb 1st, I'll only be DDing my truck till retirement. If you drive a different car without a sticker, you have to go to security and get a temporary permit for the day.

You could get a sheet of magnet material, then stick the sticker to it. Then, you could stick the magnet on the trunk of your car or the bumper of your truck. Just an idea...

LOL, that is what I've been doing with the FR-S for 4 years with the old sticker. I just risk getting a ticket if they get close enough to see that it is removable. |

Yea, a lot of employees aren't happy about the new rules. My truck is nice. It is like driving a giant lazyboy. Pretty boring. I feel like I'm driving a 10 foot ladder after switching cars. |

You have worked there more than 20 years, right? You are over 55 years old, right? You have a bad knee(s), right? You have to have more than one car to drive to work, because of your shifting medical condition. Tell them to issue you at least three parking permits that can be easily moved from vehicle to vehicle because the ADA (American Disabilities Act) demands it. If they give you any grief, ask to speak to the Director of Human Resources and mention that you have a friend high up in ADA administration and that you have noticed several major violations of the act on their premises. Then you can go to Denny's for breakfast and get the Senior Special (55+), since you will have saved time that you would have spent looking for a parking space. Your welcome. humfrz |

I could just use the parts from your kit but that would leave a Challenger R/T with a big gaping hole in the hood. If I cast it in resin I can use the copy and have two complete cars. I don't even want to imagine what the wife paid for the kit since it is out of production for a few years now.

Medical update on ol humfrz
As you may recall, about a month ago I had major back surgery. Ten days after the surgery, I had a follow up visit with the surgeon. He is an old fart about my age and is definitely old school when it comes to after care. When I mentioned the pain I was in he just said “of course you are, I just reamed out the bottom five vertebrae of your spine.” Get over it, you’re lucky you're walking at all. So, last Friday (always on Friday ya know), the pain returned, so, I hit the oxy again. Monday, I made an appointment to see the assistant surgeon, a PAC, who is younger and more understanding. When he ask what was going on, I described my condition like so. It’s like having a wire that is running from my left shoulder to my left foot, via my back and hip, that is too tight and caused pain. When I lay down for more than a few hours, it’s like the wire tightens up and gets extremely hot, causing great pain. He sort of cocked his head and asked me how my meds were holding out? I mentioned that when the “hot wire” hits, I take two of everything in the medicine cabinet, including one oxy pain pill. After about 30 minutes, just before I feel like yelling for the medic to give me another dose of morphine or go down the hill to the emergency room of hospital, the pain subsides. I said that I had only one pain pill left and rattled the med bottle to show him and ask him to refill the prescription. I reassured him that I was not becoming an addict because I had one pill left. Back in my drinking days, there would NOT have been a swallow left in the whisky bottle. So, he had more X-rays taken and ordered a follow up MRI, just to make sure my spine was healing up straight and not pinching on the spinal cord again. He then he got real and said “mr humfrz, I’ll give you one more bottle of pain pills, however, you must realize that we just chopped your spine to pieces and put it back together – and you ARE a 76 year old man and it will take a while to heal – so, take it easy”, spinal cord nerves only regrow (if at all) at the rate of one inch per month. Thanks for listening. humfrz |

I've been wondering how you were holding up but didn't want to pry. If I live long enough, I know my day will come.
Best wishes, my friend.
