Glittery engine oil after short block replacement
2013 frs 125k
Long story short: engine started knocking after Valve spring recall. Oil pick up screen was clogged. Dealer replaced short block. ~4500 miles after short block. 3 oil changes since then. oil change at 500, 1000 then 4500miles. This video is from the 3rd oil change. Look like i put some glitter into the oil. The other 2 oil changes was not like this, some gold flakes nothing crazy but no glitter. Well let me confirm one thing. This pan wasn’t used to drain your oil after the first failure was it? If so this could be left over bearing material from the last failure that you just didn’t notice on your other changes post short block replacement.

It wouldn’t be left over in the engine if that is what you are thinking (hoping). Not 2 changes later suddenly showing up. This is a new failure in the making. Sorry to hear about this. They most likely botched the packing like they did on the recall and your pickup will be covered in packing. I would try to be around and get pics of the pickup before they clean it up and play stupid. |

Any recent change in how the engine sounds when running? Especially when fully warm?

As I said before, I suspect you are in the process of eating another bearing in your brand new short block and I would bet a lot of money that your pickup is blocked with packing. |
