I can hear it already, "I am afraid to park it", "too much power", "why not in purple", "needs bigger tires", "needs smaller tires", "doesn't come with a cassette player"

Agree. I wonder if Toyota would ever consider creating a performance model (like Honda's Type-R) with the following:

- 100 lbs. weight reduction
- Header + exhaust + tune package making 225 hp
- Performance tires
- Upgraded brakes + suspension

I'd settle for a seat that returns to the original position after folding and moving them.

On the rare occasion that I have people sitting in the back seats, I feel a little guilty asking them to go through the passenger side because I don't want to try and get my seating position back to how it was.

So how would you classify a "Sports Car".

A sports car (sportscar) is a small, usually two seater, two door automobile designed for spirited performance and nimble handling.[2]

Sports cars may be spartan or luxurious but high maneuverability and minimum weight are requisite.

I see your Evo 8/9 and raise you:

Mainly because lighter and RWD.

But typically when people think sports car, they mean lightweight RWD roadster or coupe.

Conversely:
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sports%20car
"a low small usually 2-passenger automobile designed for quick response, easy maneuverability, and high-speed driving"

Seems like people are pretty muddled as to what constitutes a sports car what with all the different variations on 'performance vehicles' nowadays.

I love this concept. Two door, two seat, high powered Station wagon. I would trade in my 2013 for one of these.

I like it so much I have actually started to build my own version by sliding V8 powered Miata chassis under a Volvo P1800 two door wagon.

Have to agree, if it comes with a qualifier besides the word "sports-car" it ain't one.

Two seats. Relatively good power to weight ratio with a max weight under 3000lb, and RWD are the bare essentials of being a sports-car.

You will notice that by this definition, the FRS is a sports Coupe and hence does not qualify as a "sports car" unless you are willing to admit that the rear seats are not really functional.

How are you going to beef up the body to fight twist? Wagons are not the firmest body style out there!
I will watch around town when it is done though as that sounds badass.
