The group number of a battery indicates it physical size.

Group 35 is 9.1"x6.9"x9.9"

Group 26 is 8.2"x6.9"x7.8"

The letter beside the number refers to the position of the positive post.

Usually, the larger batteries are more powerful.

500 CCA should get you by up there, especially if you park in a garage.

If you are sure the car came with a group 35 and they did put in a Group 26R ...... you may wish to ask them about it. Could have been some flunky just put in one that sort of fit .....??

Thanks son much for all of this, after googling a bit! You're explanation was amazing. Do you know the spec for stock battery! Like the CCA?

Quick look on Autozone and it lists all 35 series for our car but, the specs are the same as the one Toyota put in your car aside from size; 500 CCA with 80 minute charge time. So its up to you if you want to say something about it.

When I went to Autozone, I listed the batteries for our cars. It shows the minimum is: 720 CCA and 100 minutes.

@Mikeez Don't sweat it. The new battery may be slightly smaller dimensionally than your old one, but it is an upgrade. The stock Panasonic batteries in these cars are pretty weak as far as CCA goes. IIRC, they are under 400 CCA.

Well that was Autozone.com so yeah. Looks like they need to update or put some checks on their system. You will be fine with what they gave you. Unless you live in a really cold place I wouldn't sweat it.
