Which fluid do you guys recommend? The Willwood fluid, or something mkre dependent on application/use?

For street cars with occasional track use I like Wilwood 570 fluid, it is very good and not expensive. What most people dont realize is that many of the top end expensive race fluids actually pick up moisture more quickly that a high performance street/track fluid. So they may initially have a dry boiling point higher than something like a Wilwood 570, but the boiling temp will drop off much faster. Keep in mind, race cars get bled before every event.

I use the project mu brake fluid. But plan to switch to the torque rt700 brake fluid.

See this thread here.

I find the differences of opinion on Brake Bias quite interesting.
On the one hand you have one of the industry's most highly respected companies (Essex) deem the factory bias fine, to the point that they have elected to not pursue the development of a matching rear kit to their no-compromise front kits.
This is interesting as it is in their commercial interests to sell rear kits, regardless of the actual value to the consumer.

On the other hand RR Racing are adamant that the factory bias is too far forward even for cars not running downforce, and have specifically developed kits to change it.
I for one would love to see some back to back track data comparing the AP Sprint/OEM combo against the equivalent RR kit, though I am guessing that's asking a lot.

I was actually looking at matching an Essex Sprint kit with a rebuilt WRX 2 piston fixed caliper on the rear (same brake torque as single piston BRZ OEM) that I picked up cheap. But I do like the look of the RR front kits, and the fact that the smaller of the 6 piston setups will fit under OEM wheels. This would allow me to run a more aggressive tire on RPF1s for track days without having to fit spacers or extended wheel studs for OEM wheel fitment (my car is also a daily driver).

I added extended studs front and rear and it really wasn't a very big deal to install (H&R 50mm front, ARP 60mm rear). Also, the aftermarket studs seem to be harder than the stock studs which people have reported tend to strip/cross thread on repeated use (don't know if this was simply user error though). Guess my point is that aftermarket studs might be a worthwhile swap anyhow.

If I order one of these in a custom color, how long is the wait for them to be shipped?

NVM I have a couple months, plenty of time :P

Order placed!

Hullo

Just confirming fitment for some wheels, these will CLEAR.
Suprisingly(good), the Weds clear without the need for a spacer.

Weds TC105N 17x8, 42 offset
Volk TE37SL Black Edition 18x9.0, 45 offset
TWS T66-F 18x8.5, 42 offset

Thanks very much! I figured it was enough space so I went ahead and bought them. They look awesome on your car btw.

For people concerned that they clear but are really close, the general rule of thumb I've seen in other threads is to give yourself at least 2mm clearance. I've even seen stock brake systems on other cars with only about 2mm clearance before.

So I've tried a few wheels on my stage 1 callipers and my friend's stage 2 callipers so that anyone interested in this kit can have an idea for what wheels have confirmed fitment!

Desmond Regamaster 17x8 +35 - Clear stage 1 with about 14mm clearance
SSR Type C 18x9 +40 - Clear Stage 1 by 15 mm
Volk GT-7 18x8 +43 - Clear Stage 1 and Stage 2
Enkei RPF1 18x8 +45 (bubble face) - clear stage 1 and 2
Wedsport TC105n 18x8.5 +42 - Clear stage 1 and 2
SSR type C 17x9 +45 - clear stage 1 and stage 2 with small 3mm spacer
720Form GTF1 17x9 +35 - clears stage 1 and stage 2
Enkei Kojin 18x8.5 +45 - clears stage 1 and stage 2

So would it be reasonable to assume that the Stage II would fit behind an 18X8.5 with +35 offset?

it totally depends on the face design which makes it hard to give a yes or a no. For example the RPF1 18x8 +35 would not fit the stage 2 kit however the +45 model does which is totally counter intuitive but its just because the way the face of the wheel is designed
