The official statement does not say anything about that but the people that are in the industry know that Tomei USA cut corners on the quality

Moreover, specifications and standards are different from them."

Tomei japan(facebook post)

I'm sure you have evidence of this too. So glad you are out there championing this for the car community. Don't know what we would all do without you

You've never dealt with manufacturing drawings before have you? I deal with them daily. Specifications can mean anything. It is drawn and spec'd in imperial vs metric, difference in tolerance, slight variation in part thickness, difference in the weldment callout. Saying it is not made to Tomei Japan's specs doesn't necessarily mean anything as far as quality.

There is nothing there about them being pissed or upset. All it says is US is not making it to Tomei Japan standards and the licencing contract has expired. If they are upset about anything, US was probably undercutting them with their customers or misrepresenting product.

Now go pull out your cape and bring us back some real proof.

Will you wear a wire next time you talk with them?

We have to know the truth. It is imperative.

Let me rephrase for the folks unable to read what I wrote:

Tomei Japan and Tomei USA share the same suppliers for exhausts, headers, and gaskets.
Tomei Japan used to supply cams (made in Japan) and other parts (some made in Japan some sourced elsewhere) to USA. Tomei USA has switched to different suppliers, mostly due to cost reasons.

Tomei Japan and Tomei USA have similar (if not identical) suppliers for several parts where the part numbers differ.

As for the rest of your stuff.... are you talking to insiders? Because I’m talking to the factories (trying to get product into the US myself) and I’ve even seen two different factories in Taiwan with goods for both Tomei Japan as well as Tomei USA. One of the factories even showed me pictures of them with Tomei USA staff at AMPA 2018 last year. I’m friends with a different supplier of Tomei as well.

Anyhow, my info is useless. Ignore.

The Blitz F-Ti titanium exhaust that is 100% made in Japan costs about 3x as much on landed cost basis. Americans are cheap. This is all very predictable.
