In pvp, I really don't think the gear matters. I mean the abilities that the gear has (faster reloading, different optics, faster movement while aiming, larger magazine, etc)
matters. But from what I was told, Hp, Defense, and Damage are all static for a lvl 1 - lvl XX in the crucible.

Which I am certainly confused about. Does that mean my Scout rifle rounds will not have an AOE in PvP? (because that certainly increases the DPS)
And if all dmg and armor are static, then does a lvl 1 armor with 50 defense and a lvl 20 item with 250 defense mitigate the same amount of damage. (for arugments sake, lets just say that everyone in the crucible has 100 armor, 75 dmg, and 1000 health)

Bungie really did poorly with the PVP in Destiny. BUT in their defense, MMO's (or in this case NOT a Massive Multiplay MMO "NMMO") balance based on PVE and Not PVP. Then they try to work a PVP system. Since this is Bungie's first NMMO, I expected them to fail. Because Bungie PVP is so broken LOL.

If* they are going to revamp PVP, they better do it soon. Because there is a reason why there are soo many hunters :P
Personally, I think Titans need a LOT of love. While their skills are helpful in PvE, in PVP they are not (except in capture and defending maps like capture, salvage etc because that bubble lasts forever). If they do revamp PvP, I am pretty sure most people are going to be upset (*cough*most people *hack* play hunters* cough. Ehem excuse me)

In the beta they opened up the "Iron Banner" Crucible event which didn't level the gear. What you had was what you used. I got smoked super badly lol, some of those people grinded way harder than I did.

I wouldn't necessarily say good gear is as pivotal as having good teammates. You are also correct as they level out all stats for the weapons. Abilites on the weapons are another story. They also state in the game mode description that level advantages are eliminated. At the end of the day it is still a shooter. My friends and I easily defeat teams that are ~8 levels higher than us simply with the same tactics and mechanics we use in Halo. Super charged abilities aside, it's really hard to try to single handedly carry a team to victory in Destiny.

I tried The Crucible for the first time yesterday. I got smoked immediately within 10 seconds of spawning, twice, when I first came into the round by some dude in an armored vehicle. I was so irritated I almost turned the game off. Then I got into a groove, hid from the guy driving around blasting everyone and the team I was on won so I felt a little better about the whole affair, though I was still the lowest scoring player on my team.

Yes, I agree. I wasn't expecting there to be vehicles in the PvP section of the game.

Play with friends. Once somebody gets on a vehicle, f*ck them up as a team. Just like in Halo.

Still curious on my Exploding rounds perk on my scout rifle.

I havent' leveled up the weapon enough to unlock the attachment, but I wonder if it will work in PvP.
