My 5th twin - 2017 Halo 860 - Louvers On!
So, here I am again, with my FIFTH BRZ/FRS/86. I picked it up about a month ago and my plan was to keep it stock for this year, as I usually go through cars at a rate of once every two months. That being said, I couldn't help myself and added:
Gloss black vinyl roof TRD Catback Toyota window visors Cusco Street Zero A coilovers Enkei NT03RR Goal is just to have a clean, mature (I'm old) looking car. Thinking of getting the TRD front lip / side skirts next. Will probably pass on the rear bumper / quad tip exhaust.. at least for now. So to add to the story, I couldn't find a local dealer to give me the deal I wanted, so I did a 24 hour 1250 mile road trip, non stop, by myself to trade my last car for the 86. Pic from the drive there: As I pulled up to the dealership: Prep for the drive home: And one pic from the drive home: Parts showed up all at the same time: Spent a night of wrenching and got to this: 09/29/17 update: Last edited by tawheed; 09-30-2017 at 12:27 AM. |

You're making me regret not getting a 17 BRZ.

I'm totally with you on this, when the 17 refresh was announced, I didn't think there was any way I'd end up with the 86 vs BRZ, as the front end looked awful. When I finally got to see them in person, I almost felt like the BRZ hadn't changed enough, and the 86 looked better than it did in the pictures. When the special edition with all the creature comforts of the BRZ became an option, I had to pull the trigger.

It's very clean and very mature looking. Very well done! Having said that, I think you'll find the TRD kit spoils the lines of the car somewhat, especially the skirts. May I suggest the Grazio lip and side skirts instead?

That actually looks really good! One of the reasons I'm was leaning towards TRD is because it's one of the few ones that I could find. The plan is to wait for next spring to do the kit, I'm hoping by then there are more options. I think a simple lip kit would be ideal.

Both of these questions have the same answer. I have a short attention span when it comes to cars.. I bought my first BRZ in late 2012 when they first came out.. For various reasons I've continued to get out, and then back into them, as I really love the simplicity of the platform.

I love your 86, and the Halo white. Just like mine. I know 86 speed has a simple front spliter coming in next month. Keep up the good work. Did your 86 not have trunk spoiler on it when you bought it? I know the one in your photos is optional, and I was wondering about the mounting points.

NT03s look really good. Don't really see those on the FRS/BRZ/86.
