Update, I will stick up some photo's later today with that metal bar.
@Dezoris - How did you get on with faceplate relocation? I've picked up a headunit but this thing has 20pin header for the faceplate Going to test my soldering skills for sure.

/Rant - Been watching carputer video stuff of youtube...why do people go through their apps and thats considered an install video. I could do the same from my fricken sofa.

Cheers,

Sam

Here is a mockup of what I currently have running on my tablet.

I'm going to be developing a front end UI for android head units. It should be compatible with tablets as well. Perhaps we should talk?

Depending on the header, you may be able to find a connector to plug into it, and no soldering required.

If you can find the male and female versions of the 20 pin just run a ribbon cable between and then its easy and reversible too.

does torque have the ability to auto synch with video shot while on track? If I can grab, throttle and brake traces from torque and synch, then this is a complete no brainer. Love what you guys are putting together here! Amazing work and creativity!

Yes. There is a free plugin that is called track recorder. It does video and overlays whatever specs you want over the video. Including gps. I posted pics of it somewhere here.

Can someone post pictures of the metal bar for the bottom area.
I really want to install a single DIN there. However I don't have my 86 yet.

My Camera died during installation last night, but it's still missing half the center dash. I'll take some pics and post. I strongly advice faceplate relocate over cutting the metal.

Thanks Maximus!
What is actually blocking the single din from going in?
The whole metal bracket, or just the lower tabs for the screws?

Where do you plan on relocating the headunit?
Anyone else have pictures of other single din locations?

The whole metal bar is in the way. I've already soldered on the tabs of the headunit and faceplate. The headunit will be in the original location but the face will be mounted down in the pocket at the bottom. Just haven't decided if I wanna hack up the original pocket or do the cardboard cutting thing like the dude in Korea.

Cat5e to couple the headunit and faceplate together. I'm not sure about the nexus 7 anymore since I've done some testing and 3G is super shitty in this country. Plus the fact I've upgraded the sound system and streamed content sounds shitty.
