Why is it that 5000k lights on a fr-s I saw looked like a mild green white output, when on my lancer it was pure white. Also how do I achieve a mostly white but purple tint like the bmw/mercedes projectors. Is it based on the projector itself? or just temp

I'm no expert, but I believe 4300K is the most efficient color temp as far as natural light goes from what I understand. I don't know that a projector will change the color, but will change the output of the light across a broader spectrum. The higher the temp, the more blue, then purple the light becomes. If your after that look, I would suggest 8K to 12K HIDS depending on how extreme you want to go. I like the white output, so I stuck to 6K HIDS for both my headlights and fogs.
If someone else wants to chime in on this, that's my best understanding...

you are right there Jp. Higher than 4300 and you are throwing less light but go more toward violet in your colour. 12000k are darker than halogens but DAMN are they purple.

BMW, Lexus, etc tend to go with the 4300-5000k. Their projectors are of higher quality though, so the light could defuse through the lens differently. I would bet the person's 5000k bulbs are looking green for 2 reasons
1. poor photography
2. if seen in real life, the quality of the HID kit

Yeah for now! I'll be swapping out the Litespeed intake right away for my Blitz intake tube soon


Should look great also as it's a closer match in color


On a side note, will have to pick up the shift boot from you someday soon!

For those of you that have installed LED bulbs for interior, trunk, license plate...etc what bulbs did you use and where did you get them from?

Also I'm thinking of installing an HID kit but looking for recommendations from those who have one as well. Which is the best to go with and where's a good place to buy from?
